Math and Science / Re: Great program for calculus
« on: March 20, 2014, 02:31:03 am »
New update,  i hope i fixed it for you
you need to load pic1 to pic4 on your calculator too and keep them unarchived (group them if you can)

and the line integral function isn't working properly right now, i'll fix that

MAJOR UPDATE :D
new interface, slope field generator is overhauled, and it's glitch-free! (i think)

check it out!

Thanks for the reply :D

when you want to input an equation for the slope fields, you get two choices,

one is for an implicit equation, like x^2+y^2=1, so you'll get the differential equation dy/dx=-x/y
the other is just for dy/dx (or y')

and yes, all derivative rules are in the app thanks to the symbolic function (but it won't simplify trig identities)

but now i've got yet another new version :D

oh and by the way, how exactly did you approximate pi?
i assume you used the taylor series function?

yeah i noticed that too
and half of my calculus program got corrupt because of the new editor :(
i'm sorry, but every time i try to reproduce it in wabbit it won't work, so i can't help you finding the bug :(
Actually, the PRGM menu is much faster since OS 1.14 came out. Beforehand, with 200 programs it took about 4 seconds to scroll down one program in the list. Even 50 programs was still pretty slow (about .5 seconds per scrolling iteration). So in other words, we got our Fast Program Menu in 2002. :P (I agree that something faster would be better, though)
i just use alpha to skip to the program i want to edit or open

well, it seems my program wasn't working properly so here's a new version of it
you can now calculate the volume of a solid of revolution and you can calculate double or triple integrals :D
oh and the function for partial fractions is removed (for now)

TI-BASIC / Re: Best TI-BASIC command of all time?
« on: March 17, 2014, 02:31:05 am »
On a side note, cumSum gotta have the worst TI-BASIC command name  of all time (I already brought that NSFW joke up before, but yeah the name looks a bit questionable) O.O

Maybe TI thought that students using that calculator would not be familiar yet with that stuff so they didn't mind using a dirty command name :P

i never noticed that haha XD

i always thought something to make my own functions with like the symbolic functions would have been awesome (javascript can do it, why can't asm?)

Why not make a verification tool that can show if an OS has been modified, for example, rather than simply locking down the OS installations and enforcing that lockdown with legal threats?

this is exactly what i thought
c'mon TI!
show us some love

yeah i noticed that too, could that be fixed?

Is there any way to add some sort of "suspend" to the program editor? Press a button and you're at the homescreen, where you can math out that constant you need, and then press it again and you're back where you were.

That's an awesome idea :D

i always thought a numtostring command should've been implemented in the os but it's not (yay symbolic :D)
why isn't it exactly?

yeah but the main idea of JWinslow23 was to make a factorial program which could display all numbers
