For graphics you don't need anything special besides the usual usb setup.
You only need an USB hub which you can connect to the nspire and to external power. Any USB stick, keyboard and mouse should work out of the box, to use X you have to find the right rootfs image. I think it's this one, but I'm not sure. 1061

Tried to compile that, doesn't work, too.
Checked the version you linked to, wow 685 > 643. At the time I downloaded it (1 month ago) it was listed as most recent version O.o I try updating Ndless... Edit: Works *facepalm* 1064
