So, how big is say an 8x8 sprite in hex? Just so I know.
This might make it a little hard to make the engine easy to use with a custom APPVAR system... There would have to be extremely strict specifications on how to build the appvars. 318
Axe / Using AppVars, more help!« on: June 26, 2011, 03:49:46 pm »
Okay, I read FinaleTI's external vars tutorial, but I still have a couple of questions.
1) So from what I understand, accessing the data in my appvars, I need to know EXACTLY where everything is, knowing exactly what byte it is at. Correct? 2) How would I go about storing PICs and tilemaps in AppVars and then accessing that data? If you need more info, ask. I will probly add more questions to this as I go along programming this game. edit: 3) How do I get my Pic out of the appv and store it to Pic1? I have tried a variety of methods but none seem to work. 319

thepenguin77, the only thing that bugs me about this, is the name is far over on the left. is there a way to center it?

I have this problem as well. And sadly I haven't found out how to fix this either. I'm actually about to try your solution now. Hopefully it works for me, and I hope you figure out what is wrong soon!
edit: nope, didn't work for me either. sadly. actually I'll ask my friend about this, he might know how to fix this. 323

Screen: color
Wifi: I wouldn't say no yet, or have an option to turn it on and off. My old laptop had a physical switch to toggle wifi USB: Mass storage, yes... Easiest route. Linking software would have to be written. If hte OS is based on Linux, then have the device mount only the home folder when you connect it to the computer. Processor: I'd use an ARM, which one I don't know but mobile devices use ARM like 90% of the time (NDS, iPod, Nspire) Keyboard: ALPHA would be fine, but if you could add support for a USB keyboard that would be great Sound: Thru headphones 324

Okay...
USB functionality is a must, as is WiFi, how else are you going to connect it to the computer? 325

I'll see if I can write a quick game for this. I made a game this year in Basic with the home screen and I could rewrite it optimized with what i have learned
