I don't know why, but it looks really confusing to me. Although I'm more used to Python and C language syntax than anything else.

Axe / Help Brainstorming For Programming Text-based Axe RPG
« on: May 28, 2011, 08:33:26 pm »
I have decided to make a text-based RPG called Blut ("blood" in German). It consists of three "chapters" but it is one game.
I forgot who suggested using a program/app for the main engine, and have individual APPVARs for each chapter. Onto what my whole topic is about...

First, I know how to go about writing the actual engine (I might need help with some parts of it), but I have no clue how to implement the loading from an APPVAR and using that information (I have some idea of it looking at the Axe documentation, but don't understand it fully).
Second, the title screen. If more than one chapter can fit at one time on a calculator (using pucrunch?), I have no clue how to detect which chapters are loaded onto the calculator.

Thanks! And if you need more information on something, please just ask. I'm starting the actual engine part of the game now. Tilemapper first (unless someone else has a better idea ;D).

Sigh.... This world is going mad... You really can't deny that. Companies that we have looked to... Sony, and now TI (not quite as bad as Sony)... But seriously... Why do people have to be so butt hurt all the time and take it out on people like the admin at TI-Bank and its users?

edit: sorry for the miscommunication there DJ_O :/ I should have been more clear

Lua / Re: Lua2TI

I really don't know lol. I don't know Lua very well, but did you check the syntax (I think there is a syntax checker built into Lua) before you converted it?

And TNS -> Lua is amost done.  Some reason I'm having trouble with changing the "&" (etc) back to their normal counterparts.

It may be very possible, I'd have to see format difference, all that the Lua to TNS converters to is make the source into XML, so if that is about what has to be done, it would be very possible.  I'd really have to see the format though

Chances are they will eventually.  But they have to learn from past experience, and from Apple and Sony (geohot) that we won't give up until we have what we want :D
The internet programmer/hacker community is a powerful force because we have a goal and something we really really really want.

I believe Goplat said something about the compression being different than normal about it being a few bytes off.
