UPDATE: NO DYNAMIC FOG. I tried the fog of war with the nodes. on the vita. SO LAGGY. I will have to do the fog were it is only around one player at a time... But that is ok, because it is unique right? (trying to avoid double posting, but want to make sure you see the update) Oh and did you get what I meant by strobe light?

As for things built, iirc I once made a wood plank cube house, ran out of wood and finished it off with dirt. Beautiful
It truly is! I haven't played minecraft for a while, but iirc my laptop with its integrated intel hd 3000 poc can barely manage ~20fps w/ optifine. It's kind of painful, especially when a next-gen physics engine which hasn't even landed on big-name consoles yet gets about 30-40 And I hear 1.5.X fps is even worse? How'd they manage that
You mean the 1.5.2 as in update? The FPS is worse because the more blocks they add, the more numbers the game must check through when loading chunks. literally, it is exponentially more time consuming.

Yeah that is a general feature to most RTS's but I will not be able to do that. Period. The reason being is that to do so would require you to place "nodes" every so and so apart in the actually game coords. Since my game is infinite, I cannot put infinite, nodes. That is why ALL normal RTS have map edges. Right now, the fog is determined off the screen coordinates, and determines the location of all ships first. So no, not likely. but personally since the game is focused on the more exploration part. I will make the view expandable, and there will be, "Obelisks" You can place for line of sight. (Just don't place them next to a black hole, because it will probably suck you in...) Also 200 views on youtube, I believe all from Omni, thats awesome! (Cause you know, I'm so low down there)

Nor am I, but I just know that we keep the network for it up but we don't use it because it's really slow. Like slower than what we have now... (doesn't make too much sense)

Sorry DJ, about the vid I'll upload it right here in a sec, So I am keeping it all 2D (technically ) top down, no side formations or anything. And as for the fog of war, I have 2 things working I have a VERY dynamic circle fog that goes around the one player at a time, like I said, or I have some bigger, slightly choppier (but kinda cool looking) REAL fog of war were you can see every thing that all of your allies can see. Which do you prefer? My only problem right now, is fog of war. Unless Someone has a brilliant idea on how to make a good dynamic fog of war, I have 2 options. I can make squares on the screen and remove them when the ship is near, or I could make it so you can only see from one ship at a time. If any allies are in range they are seen, if not they become a way point. This adds a little bit of a twist to your normal RTS, This makes it so you can still see your units on radar, but you can only see from one thing at a time, until you switch units. Personally I like the second idea, because it adds uniqueness to the game. But I would like other people's input.
That sounds like fun to me ! It adds more challenge and it's also more realistic as a unit can't normally see what others see. At least put a decent view range so that it's not TOO hard, I guess indirect combat units should have a much larger sight too. Though the only strategy game I ever played is Advance Wars II and it's turn based, but I think RTS are not that much dfferent.
As for the black hole I kinda like the first, but in your top down view game the 2nd would be better.
Agreed.
As for the RTs/TBS difference, there really is none except that one has a strobe light attached to it the whole time.

The main problem now is that I have a 256MB Radeon HD 4650. This card sucks.
That's nothing. My old computer had an ATI Radeon 9250+ 128 MB (PCI) since I had no PCI-E nor AGP slot. It could barely run any game made after 2005 because it had no Pixel Shader 2.0 support. It was even worse before I install that card, as I had on-board Intel graphics >.<
This is kinda funny to read about video card shader issues in a Minecraft thread, considering how the graphics are very PSOne-like.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooo GAAAAAAAWWWWWWWDDDDD Ew, intel graphics, AND on-board. I feel so sorry for you. And ya, They graphics may be PSone styled, but you must remember, they made it in Java. I personally like Java, but Minecraft SHOULD NOT have been made in Java. It is definitely not the right language for such a mass resource intensive game. They need to change it all to C++ already. The only reason they don't, is because it will, "make modding harder for the community". When really, Modding something so simple is not harder, it is just slightly different. (emphasis on slightly). I guess for now we will have to stick with our extreme graphics cards to run such a simple game, . This is kinda funny to read about video card shader issues in a Minecraft thread, considering how the graphics are very PSOne-like.
Actually Minecraft is freaking unoprtimized. I think Notch had A LOT of fun when writing the rendering engine. It's also quite CPU intensive but surprisingly you can largely decrease RAM allocation if you don't use many mods. If you don't have a NASA computer, it'll be very hard to max it.
Well without mods I get about 40-50 FPS on all high settings . My computer isn't even "great" it's just average.

(will there be another 5 halo's this generation?).
I guess I can't say for sure, but 343 said they PLANNED on making 3 more Halo's including 4, so tops we got halo 6? Anyway, they are going to need to change it up a little, because with this many Halo's it is eventually going to turn out like CoD, and just suck (after WaW). Awesome vid Sorunome !
I heard that sony has been using microsofts unpopularity all the time to advertise for the ps4
Yeah, I saw that vid a while back, . The best part of it though is that they don't have to do anything special, just sharing the game got them that much more! Actually now that we are kind of talking about the games that are coming, might I mention that Destiny, Bungie's latest game is looking great.

Hmm... Well it is an app.... Is there another way to create an array other than tilemap?
Creating an array has nothing to do with tilemapping. Tilemapping is just a method to render a world on the screen. So your question should be more "is there a way to have the array outside the app ?", and then the answer is this.
I think I understand more now, but I'm still quite overwhelmed ! Lol, I might get back into calc programming later.

I never figured out how to change data values in the array after it was created . But I can get dynamic movement down for it pretty good. That's what I had on Fallen and it ran great.

56k internet Wait, does that sh*t still exist ?
Nice collection BTW. I'm gonna check those out when I have my 84 back, though I already love Hayleia's games.
Indeed. In rural areas, ISPs don't feel like offering better service because it would cost way too much for the wiring. There are some places which aren't as bad, where at least hi-speed is offered, but you won't get optical fiber internet.
EX-F******-ACTLY, I have to sit out here and wait 10 friggin minutes for omnimaga to load, because our ISP are mindless idiots, that can't even tell the road 50 meters away, and a driveway with a copper cable. We have to sit here, because they keep getting things screwed up every time we request to upgrade. "Oh, theres a cable right by your house!", " W'ell hook you up in an hour", *2 months later* "Here's the bill: *like 50 friggin thousand dollars, and we are stuck with the same internet*". Then when we ask them to just hook a cable up directly down our drive way, We get this, "Nope, we are going to sit on our fat asses and do nothing about it" type deal. It pisses me off! The only reason we can't get something else, is because my dad is a software engineer and no one will give us internet faster than 100kb that we can actually do business on, because it's against their policy or something!?!?! I really hate my position. :'(

Please excuse the double post, but this is an update. So I created random space deformities, such as black holes asteroids and other stuff. Here is a video: My only problem right now, is fog of war. SD card support would be great! Just switch between savestates and such stuff or maybe ROMs (although I doubt that TI would like if a third-party hardware could run their OSes).
If you own the calc, and you use a ROM that you dumped yourself, it should be legal, no?
I don't see why it wouldn't be, it is your ROM after all.
