Most of you may know critor for his Nspire programming and incredible expertise about pretty much all models actually ;-) Critor has been collecting TI calculators (and other TI things that go with them) and especially Nspire stuff for quite some time now, and he tries very hard to get all the OSes he can (from the public ones to the rarest ones ever found)... We asked him to take a photo of all his magnificent collection... Well, you know, it can be impressive. But let's compare ith other people first, just to show you how incredible it is : Here's Brandon Wilson's collection (≈30 calcs) : Here's Dan Englander's collection (≈20 calcs) : But here's Critor's ! ( more than 100 calcs) : +1 to whoever wants to count in detail ;-) (we got the detail but it wouldn't be fun to disclose everything )

Hi there ! Some time ago, the 84+Pocket SE was presented with high quality pictures of the 'new' TI-84+ Pocket SE (for Silver Edition). Unfortunately, this model is not available for sale in French stores or European / American. It is indeed restrained to the Chinese market only (for now ?). Well I had the honor to receive (Thanks to TI) this calculator by mail yesterday! Here are some real exclusive pictures of the packaging of the calc ! The package from the front reveals the calculator and its USB cable, but surprises us with its inscriptions in English and examinations stuff in North America such as SAT, ACT, AP and IB. But it is indeed an Asian packaging as we can see on the back above the barcode. Perhaps it's a habit to have a package in English and refer to these USA exam things for calculators marketed in Asia. The back of the packaging also reveals the four included AAA batteries, and technical specifications of this model and of others. The TI-84 Plus Pocket SE therefore has 1.5MB of archive memory (2MB ROM chip) and 24KB of user memory (48K RAM chip, probably), just like the TI-84 Plus Silver Edition. One can notice the error on the packaging where it is assigned the same capacity as the ROM TI-84 Plus: 480Ko (1MB ROM chip). Anyway ... more soon ;-) EDIT : TI-Planet, always one step ahead! The latest Ndless update provides a wonderful we've been excited about for some time now : Third-Party Lua Extensions ! You can see the news article on TI-Planet.org there, or right here directly translated in English : Hi all, Today is a great day (like many others these days...) You know already that, on the Nspire, it was possible to program in: - Basic : the more integrated with the OS, with great math interactions. However, it is slow and has few graphics possibilities etc..
- Lua : Since OS 3, TI added this interpreted language that fits the Nspire very well and provides great improvements over the Basic, thanks to strong performances in both graphic and power etc.. Lua is known to be easy to use and flexible in terms of language itself.
- C / Asm : Thanks to jailbreak Ndless. This is the most powerful because it directly controls the calculator's processor (ARM9). However, it is quite difficult to master especially for beginners.
Now Extended (Ndless author) offers to combine the power of C with the simplicity of Lua, with the " xLua" (for " eXtendedLua ", but it is I who named like that, Extended did not specify a name. ... ) I am announcing today the appearance of native extensions on Lua! Mix native routines with your Lua scripts (using Lua modules)! Isn't that awesome ? To take advantage of this new feature, download the latest version of Ndless (see end of this post), and once installed, transfer samples/luaextdemo.tns to a folder named ' /ndless/luaext 'on your TI-Nspire, and run runluaextdemo.tns to have a simple example (prints "hello world" on the console). Note by the way the return of "print ()" (sound output is back !) that TI was removed in version 3.1 ... Writing extensions is fairly simple and is based on the C API standard Lua. You can judge for yourself in the sources available in the download ( src/samples/luaextdemo ). Official Manual: http://www.lua.org/manual/5.1/manual.html#3For now, only a few API functions are available, but this is improving day by day! We can therefore take advantage graphical routines faster! (Especially for images ...) Your extensions ideas are welcome ! Download the latest version ( r547 ) of Ndless 3.1: http://tiplanet.org/forum/archives_voir.php?id=3891Please note that this "xLua" feature is this in development and can be buggy, so use it at your own risks

Amazingly enough, Extended (who we don't need to introduce anymore), did it again. The Nspire 3.1 has been "jailbroken". YES, I'M TALKING ABOUT NDLESS 3. It's history, guys Extended posted on his blog " ndlessly" this photo and this video : The hack requires (for now) a USB connection. It's not stable for the moment, and is not released, so it's useless to ask where you can download it. This is actually more of a proof-of-concept that anything else. I guess it's just to remind us that he's still working for us all... Let's hope it will be available soon ;-) However, there are still some watchdog to workaround on the CX devices for the hack to work.... Let's discuss about this great news Original article : http://ndlessly.wordpress.com/2011/11/05/ndless-3-preview/If you want to talk about that in the french forum TI-Planet, here you go : Si vous voulez en parler en français, vous pouvez aussi le faire sur TI-Planet : Lien vers le topic....

(By the way, don't think that I'm talking about me at the third-person : this is a translation I've done of the original TI-Planet article ;-) ) Another exclusive TI-Planet program today! Our dear member Adriweb, after releasing the Chemical Reaction analysis program for TI-83 + / 84 + ( http://tiplanet.org/forum/archives_voir.php?id=1308 ) , has now programmed its Nspire version ! This is a first on this calculator, especially as it profits from the main new feature offered by the OS 3 : Lua Scripting, like the program TabVar 3, presented yesterday. This .tns document actually consists of two parts: -> You run the program (TI-Basic) avancement() and follow the steps to provide information on the chemical reaction to be studied. -> Go to the next tab and watch the table drawn in detail and in color (Nspire CX only) ! A screenshot? This program is open source and licensed under the Creative Commons BY-SA 2.0. By the way, Happy Halloween;-)

Hi everybody, Today is a great day! Indeed, for the lucky owners of a TI-Nspire with OS >= 3, JayTe has made an awesome program that combines the simplicity of the TI-Basic with the power of Lua, for our pleasure ... Here is ... TabVar 3 ! Yes, the famous program that makes all your work in depth and draws a beautiful variations table ("Tableau de variations" in french) ! "Hmm, Doesn't that exist already ?" You might say. It does, actually, The idea is not new. Chronologically, it has indeed been made by Adriweb, the first one for Nspire, and then, TabVar v1 and v2, by JayTe, whose engine is based originally on Adriweb's program, but everything was done much further by integrating more and better function analysis functions and algorithms. This program exceeds by far its competitors. No other .tns can hope to compete so far. The outstanding feature of this version is that this program (launched exclusively on TI-Planet) deeply uses the features offered by the OS 3 by integrating a dynamic Lua script for an optimal view of the variation table, which for once is completely graphical. No need to have weird graphical hacks to correctly display what we need ... We will not make you wait any longer... Here's a screenshot of TabVar: and details of preliminary calculations (click for larger image): So far, you will not find a more reliable engine (although nothing is perfect, of course, complex functions can be studied incompletely ...) You can, for example, try fairly complex functions, such as polynomial, rational, with or without asymptote(s) and strange behavior with or without limits ... In short, for a high school student (or other!) It's more than perfect :-) Download link: http://tiplanet.org/forum/archives_voir.php?id=3751Thank you Who? Thank you Jayte! Do not forget, this program is by far the most reliable and practical for the studies of functions .. A small screenshot to prove that point ? (Example : TabVar v3 against a competitor for the same function f(x)=1/x) Yep, do not trust bad imitations if you want a good grade! TI-Planet.org, the reference website to find everything you need and what you dream of!

Hello everybody, As some of you may have noticed, TI-Bank became unavailable ("403 Error") a few days ago, on August 19th, 2011. This occurred because our host, "Free.fr" suddenly closed the website, and said that it was officially because of the presence of local files being used as databases. In fact, the main reason was probably the already-high and growing popularity of TI-Bank : we had up to 110,000 visits per month, lastly. We contacted Free.fr, and they rightly asked as a prerequisite to the reopening, the removal of several thousand files, and disabling the statistics module (attendance, history ...) which are an essential feature of community websites. The main actors of the site, which are Critor, Levak and myself, and in addition to Lionel Debroux, had meetings in emergency, and we have worked very hard (and even day and night for some of us ...) to recover backup files and databases of TI-Bank, finding, getting, configuring the host, buying domain names, restore files and databases, completely remake the whole "portal" of TI-Bank, which was based on an old and completely obsolete CMS with many vulnerabilities, and its full integration with the PhpBB3 forum, customized by ourselves. (Moreover, the personal investment is not : the cost of domain names + hosting is already more than $350 per year.) So... We are pleased to announce our new website : TI-Planet. TIPlanet (or TI-Planet) [Edit : ] is *now* available on http://www.ti-planet.org or http://www.tiplanet.org. Here are the changes and benefits of TI-Planet: - The speed and overall processing power of the many users connections will normally be higher - The overall design has been completely remade - The forum and the portal (including modules) were merged - A single and universal login (based on the forum) was set up. - Existing members of TI-Bank still have their accounts working on TI-Planet ! - The News are now fully integrated into the forum, and members with the rank of "writer" (ask on the forum to become one) can post articles to the portal - Archive Management (file downloads) has been improved - Etc. etc ... We wish all former members, visitors and regulars users of TI-Bank, a pleasant moment of discovery of the new French reference website about TI calculators, and we thank you all for now updating your links to either www.tiplanet.org or www.ti-planet.org. Thank you very much, and looking forward to seeing you soon on TI-Planet, The TI-Planet administrators Adriweb, Critor, Levak, Lionel Debroux Just because you still have to wait...
