News / Real photos of the new TI-84+ Pocket SE !

Hi there !

Some time ago, the 84+Pocket SE was presented with high quality pictures of the 'new' TI-84+ Pocket SE (for Silver Edition).
Unfortunately, this model is not available for sale in French stores or European / American.
It is indeed restrained to the Chinese market only (for now ?).

Well I had the honor to receive (Thanks to TI) this calculator by mail yesterday!

Here are some real exclusive pictures of the packaging of the calc !

The package from the front reveals the calculator and its USB cable, but surprises us with its inscriptions in English and examinations stuff in North America such as SAT, ACT, AP and IB.

But it is indeed an Asian packaging as we can see on the back above the barcode.

Perhaps it's a habit to have a package in English and refer to these USA exam things for calculators marketed in Asia.

The back of the packaging also reveals the four included AAA batteries, and technical specifications of this model and of others.

The TI-84 Plus Pocket SE therefore has 1.5MB of archive memory (2MB ROM chip) and 24KB of user memory (48K RAM chip, probably), just like the TI-84 Plus Silver Edition.

One can notice the error on the packaging where it is assigned the same capacity as the ROM TI-84 Plus: 480Ko (1MB ROM chip).

Anyway ... more soon ;-)

EDIT :

TI-Planet, always one step ahead!

TI-Nspire / Re: TNS>LUA Converter

You better use Luna to create .tns file, that any other third-party tool, since Luna is the only one generating working file for OS >= 3.0.2.

Tutorials on how to use it are everywhere, but basically :   luna.exe source.lua output.tns

EDIT : Oh wait nevermind I think I read your post wrong.....

News / Re: An official TI-Nspire theme editor!
« on: April 02, 2012, 06:25:46 am »
Wow there are dev OSes on the public internet domain?
No. Or it would be a great mistake by TI. Or a leak by some testers which would definitely cause them troubles....
What you can find tho, are screenshots and photos of devices running prototypes/dev OSes.

And I wonder what would TI stand to gain by releasing this theme editor? They don't really release appearance features such as these.
Shame it won't work to a great effect on non-CXes tho...
I think they did that in order to test different theme variations directly by changing them on-calc, without having to recompile the OS each time they wanted to try new stuff.
I wouldn't bet on a release of that tool anytime.

how do you get the dev oses??
This was taken from a public document on the Internet... but you really have to know what to look for in order to find it :P (and still, we weren't really expecting this when we found this).

As for other dev os things, I had the opportunity to see quite a lot while I was in Dallas (at TI's).
Also, some of us are alpha/beta-testing the new 3.2 OS (but there we can't say much .....)

haha lol no, I (seriously) have no Blender skills :P

The only thing I've ever done is modifying an existing project to have my own text
