Nice ! But on-calc, I thought the RTC gave only relative-values since the last reboot ? Do you have to ask the user for a value first ? Levak made something like that that displayed it on the status bar, as a hook, or something ... He'll be able to tell you more, though

Necroposting because I need to clarify a few things. I used polydumper yesterday (after installing ndless ) on my nspire clickpad with OS3.0.1 W00t! took up a lot of calc memory space, but it dumped the files I wanted. boot1 was there, boot2 was also there (however the file size was slightly larger than the boot 2 from an OS file, does that mean a real boot2 dump contains some extra stuff?) I've heard of the diags image but I have little idea what it can be used for. Then there was the os.img file, which took the longest to dump. What is the os.img used for (in respect to nspire_emu) if you can use .tno files?
Also, I've heard about .bin files, not sure how to get those, how they work and how they can be used for nspire_emu.
Hopefully after clearing this up I get a better general idea of the different files within the nspire .
You mean 3.1 right ? Also, the diags allow you to see some internat things of the calc and their status. As discovered by critor recently, it also allows you to get out of some bugs without having to batttery-reset the calc. These files are for nspire-emu for example, yes

Lionel, totally agreeing with you about Linux... (but it's great they at least have a Mac version working...) What I mean by the hassles disappearing, is that with one-click too, you are able to update your code within TINCS, and it can't be faster i any other way. But of course, jim's scripts are better for "building" and on-calc testing all in one click

Hopefully, all the hassles so far to create Lua scripts won't exist anymore with the 3.2 Lua SDK

Why do you need a bat file ? Luna just works like that : luna[.exe] source.lua output.tns

About compatibility, DJ_O :
print() is gone in 3.1 (I haven't checked in 3.2 on-calc though). gc:setAlpha() is gone in 3.2, and it wasn't documented before on.create() become on.construction()
There is a retrocompatibility thing with platform.apilevel
So, the last one will be quite (on.create change) is probably the most annoying change, since it has to be updated...

I think I can answer for him:
Btw, do you work for TI? Yes and no, in that he isn't on their payroll, but it's no secret that he is under NDA for Nspire OS 3.2, works on EEPro (though he's got lots of homework at the moment) and sends some Lua-based content to TI.
Excatly For stuff I've done, though, I got to the T3 conference etc., for example... However, EEPro is a TI-Planet project, nothing to do with TI. But they're probably interested in seeing what we can do since it's a huge project Plus, I'm going to work for them under contract soon

Also, just to be clear, all .tns created with Luna work with all the versions

Well, smaller, and apparently no need for external alimentation

- Some bugs are quite annoying (like when the mouse appears, a weird square is displayed for a few seconds)
That might be fixed in 3.2. I don't remember. CAS bugs are fixed in 3.2 for the majority - The file explorer is really slow to load
Yep, when you have a lot of files, it's quite slow to load. I think they should change it to load whenever you open a directory, and not "prefetch"/"precache" all the hierarchy... HideManager (by Levak) solves that, though. - The text editor is way too slow too
That's true for long texts indeed. It's completely linked to their crappy internal XML structure... Maybe one day they will make it better... - There is no official on-calc lua script editor
Well, nope, but it's not really easy to program 'big' things with Lua on-calc anyway (since it's more complex than Basic). LuaCS 2 provides, though, a really awesome editor with Syntax-Coloring, templates, etc. But the Nspire is still better than the prizm, IMHO
Same for me
