TI-Nspire / Re: How to install Debian on a TI-Nspire CX
« on: November 08, 2014, 05:57:23 pm »
I did. Did not work. Don't really care actually, I'll just type my things ;)

Anyways, I think I need a better USB adapter. Booting started to fail 90% of the time, halting at a kernel panic, forcing me to reset my calc.
Plus I needed the flash drive for something else so I had to format it. But I got Nethack to work so I got that going for me which is nice :D

Holy necropost, Batman O.O

So street and I were discussing this yesterday and I offered to help him out a bit with sprites. In the end we decided that he's doing a full rewrite of the map engine from scratch, at 4lv16x16 graphics.
So I went ahead and created him some character sprites.

This project will probably be finished in 2043 or so, so don't worry we're just slow.

Miscellaneous / Re: How did you find Omnimaga?

hmm my story is a bit confusing one for me :P

When I got my Nspire CX i was disappointed by the limited software onboard such a powerful device. First thing I searched online was games :P I found TIcalc. Some of the ReadMes had TIPlanet and Omnimaga mentioned. I first went to TIPlanet but seeing that it was french i focused on Omnimaga. Because I was still shy of forums at that time ( even though i suggested opening my forum for calculator help later on) i lurked as a guest on omnimaga for like 2 months before joining in as hking1 XD
Before I joined I always thought forums were crap <_<

That's amazing. O.O

Someone, create this for Axe please!

TI-Nspire / Re: How to install Debian on a TI-Nspire CX

Followed the instructions, got it to work. Tried to install i3 window manager, did not get it to work. :|
Anyways this is pretty cool. I have about a 20% success rate in booting, the rest results in kernel panics and stuff but that might be my USB + adapter ;)
The only thing that I did not get to work is the start_usb.ll2 thing. I tihnk it's my ndless.cfg file. Could you upload yours? Thanks :D (because that will save me a ton of typing every time)

It doesn't launch. A window briefly flashes (no content) and then it closes.

TI-BASIC / Re: What does Ndless 3.6 Do exactly? How to code?
« on: November 05, 2014, 06:05:03 am »
Hi Lorenz, welcome to the forums! We are by far the ... (*advertisement talk snipped for your convenience*)
Ndless is basically a jailbreak for your Nspire. It overrides a part of the system and allows user-made native code programs to run. Ndless programs are written in either ARM assembly or C. Most people like to use C because assembly is just a lot harder.

Hope this answers your question :)

But hey, don't leave yet. You should introduce yourself and tell us some more about you.

See you around!

Did you make the sprites yourself or do they ship with RPG Maker? They look pretty darn awesome.

Aww. I was pretty excited to try this, but it doesn't seem to work with OpenJDK 7 :(

*cough* We took up quite a bit of the channel for quite some time. I fear we hijacked some discussions.
