Saw this a while ago on kotaku, it's awesome indeed. It's so weird that you can glitch games in doing weird things like that, I still don't know how things like that work.
Actually, according to the in-game stats, it's not too bad. Also again I forgot to check the stats, but it's something like 6.8 excitement, 5.8 intensity and 4.3 nausea.
Okay. I have totally not mentioned this before on IRC and I have totally not spammed people to check out screenshots of this coaster. So I figured I'd post this in there.
Warning: Image heavy, so spoilered.
Spoiler For Spoiler:
When guests enter the park, they are greeted with the roaring sounds of Wildfire racing through its 5 inversions. The smoke columns make the view even more spectacular.
In order to get to the entrance, you have to walk under the coasters third and fourth inversions, which together make up a cobra roll.
There really is only three meters between you and the track. It's a real thrill to stand under the track when a train passes by.
The first drop. Do you dare raise your hands?
The train passes under the bridge twice. Due to the high speeds of the train, water droplets splat all around the train when it comes close to the water.
The last bend. The ride lasts only 1 minute and 10 seconds, but it's intense!
The first inversion. You can see the smoke billowing up from the smoke generators, giving the impression of a fire in the bushes below.
So yeah, now you know what a no-lifer I am, spending my afternoon doing time-wasting things like this. And I just realized that I forgot something, so I'll be adding that next weekend
I wrote a script to take advantage of a HUGE (I think max plot size is 128x128) plot of land which calculates the longest possible and fastest possible track you can make on it using a trainer. The track ran at 1089 MPH. I need to find it and post it. The game was hilarious in it's graphic reaction to it. The coaster was vibrating several inches to the left of the station when it finished, and it ran entirely through the station if I didn't put a vertical drop stopper on it.
The way we spend our lives, man. (It took me an hour to write it up and it took it 30 seconds to build it.)
Is that for RCT2 or 3? iirc in 2 your parks can be much bigger than a wee 128x128.
Here's some scenic shots of my woodie in RCT3: (1st person view vid coming soon ish)
I still need to fix the draw distance and stuff. My PC cuts RCT3 like a piece of cake. Also I did a crude attempt at doing some photoshop. I suck at it.
