Art / Sprite to Code Converter« on: July 30, 2010, 02:08:03 pm »
Hi. I am not sure if this is the correct forum for this, feel free to move this if it is not. In my Nspire programs, I am finding it to be a very time consuming job transferring from sprite drawings to code. I have some sprites drawn that are 24 by 24 pixels, but I dread the thought to converting these pics into code by typing in the individual color number in my declaration. (For example, a 4 by 4 sprite that is black in the first row and white in the second row would be declared as char sprite[4]={0,0,15,15}; ). 24 by 24 sprites would have 576 members in the declaration array and I dread having to do all of that work for five different sprites. I was wondering if there is a program available that will convert my sprites to code, or if not, how would I go about writing a program to do so? Thank you for your help!!

Trapped for the TI-Nspire and TI-89 / Re: Block Dude Nspire« on: July 30, 2010, 11:46:14 am »
I had a little bit of extra time on my hands yesterday, so I added the scrolling to this version instead of making a second version. Here is a short gif of the scrolling in action. I have not done the new graphics yet (I am working on them now--I am almost done), so the level only fills a small portion of the screen. When I am done with the new graphics, it will fill the majority of the area of the screen.

General Calculator Help / Re: buying nspire? please help me make the right choise.« on: July 29, 2010, 07:30:11 pm »
I would reccomend the Non CAS, but the decision on clickpad/touchpad dosen't really matter. Just go with the cheapest one you can find then spend an extra $10 to either buy the touchpad for the clickpad or the clickpad for the touchpad. The only reason I would reccomend getting the original light blue one is because that is the only color you can get the clickpad in and it would look strange in the new dark blue one. Using Nleash, you can downgrade either of them to 1.1 provided that you own a clickpad. Gook luck with your Nspire purchase and feel free to ask if you have any more questions!

Calculator C / Re: Tutorial - Setting up C Development Environment for the TI-Nspire« on: July 29, 2010, 05:03:47 pm »
As fb39ca4 said, just put it into a folder that is easy to access (at top or bottom of list, maybe in a separate folder named "a") so it is easy to navigate to blindly. Then, if you forget to put the cursor over it, just hit home, 6, up a few times to get to the top, left to close the folder if it is open, right to open it, then enter, and it should work.

No, you can't run the Nspire OS with the 84 keypad.

Well, that is not necessary if you can navagate to it without seeing it. For example, put it in a folder named "a" and then when you turn it on, press home, 6, up a few times (to make sure you are at the top),right (to open the folder in case it is closed), enter. This will activate the reset program.

Well, the only annoying part about calc84's patch is the fact that we have to wait for the calc to reboot each time we restart it, which is not too bad once you get used to it, but I wonder if there is a way to write a program that makes the LCD go on without having the calculator reboot.

Could you post the code to your random() function?

First, to clarify your last statement, it is impossible to install OS 1.1 without Nleash.
Since you are saying that home and on are the same buttons, I am assuming that you are using the touchpad. The keypad mappings are different for the touchpad than the clickpad. Your only option is to buy a clickpad from TI or wait for someone who knows this key combo for the touchpad to post it. 1273

Sorry, I misread your code with this thought to be problem. My syntax (with spacing) is usually different for what I thought was the error. Sorry for any inconvenience.

I just found out it will be the 13-14, not 14-15 that I might not be available.
Weren't you also supposed to be gone for a while a few weeks ago too? I remember you said something about it, but if I remember, you still showed up on the forums on a somewhat regular basis anyway. It might have been due to me not checking as much, though. DJ, Yes I was on vacation a few weeks ago, but I was lucky to have free internet access so I was able to get on the forums every night. Hopefully I will have internet access this time so I can check out the forums also. 1275
Math and Science / Re: New RSA Algorithm discussion« on: July 28, 2010, 07:39:12 pm »I was just thinking, is there any way to create a custom OS receiver and then force the calc to run that OS? so like disable to old OS and use the new one, so then any edits to the new OS that you make will be saved. Well, there is runos, which might do just that, but I am not exactly sure how runos works. Nevertheless, I doubt that runos will be released. |
