- 1.4 is needed to install OS 2.0
I don't think this is true. I have 1.3 and I have successfully sent OS 2.0 several times to several different Nspires (all non CAS)

Is there any harm in sending the OS from this "source" without the boot2 code. I sent 1.1 and it worked fine. Is this normal, or do I have to add the boot2. Also, if TI ever released a OS that was not downgradeable, would it be possible to put an old boot2 code in the file and send it so it is possible to downgrade? Thanks!

I would also like it if we could choose which applications to send. I never use the geometry application, and judging from the size of the Cabri Geometry App on the TI 89, it takes up a large amount of memory. The only applications I use are the calculator, graph, and spreadsheets. Most of them are memory wasters that look good to schools and parents.

The way the OS is stored may cause problems for future upgrades. If the current 2.0 takes up over 35% of the memory, and the size of each OS is growing, there might be a point when there is not enought memory to upgrade without completly removing the OS first.

I think my copy of OS 1.1 may have been bad. I downloaded a different copy from the Internet today and I had no trouble sending it. Also, I think that the OS is stored in the memory because my memory avaiable went up to 80% after downgrading. Thank you to those who helped me downgrade!

Hi. I have a problem with my TI-Nspire memory. I contacted Texas Instruments about this 2 weeks ago and the person who answered my question said they had the same problem with their TI-Nspire, but they did not know the problem. The e-mail said they would contact another department to find an answer, but I have not received a response. My memory status screen shows that 14.1 MB of my memory is being used, but I only have 143 KB in my documents (both screen shots are attached). Does anyone know what causes this problem? If anyone wants to see my response from TI, I can post if here, and if no one knows what causes this, I will contact them again. Thanks!

Hi. Thanks for your help! I will try this method soon, but I have other work to do (English, Idylls of the King ) and I do not have the time to send a new OS. I tried just sending OS 1.1, but it just put OS 2.0.0.1188 back on it. I do have one of the old blue ones.

Hi. I am trying to downgrade the OS on my TI Nspire. I have a copy of OS 1.1 on my computer and I want to send it. I used the method on hackspire.com. I tried sending the new OS and pulling the keypad when it was installing (I pulled it when it was at 60%). I then put the 84 keypad back in, turned on, then put the Nspire keypad back in. The OS 2.0.0.1188 was still there. How do I downgrade. Also, what would happen if I changed the file extension of the OS from .tnc to .tno. Would I be able to run the CAS on a regular Nspire? Thanks!

Hi. I have a TI Nspire (not CAS) with OS 1.7. If I download the new 2.0 Operating System, will I be able to downgrade the OS to 1.1 or 1.7 if I want to? Thanks!
