News / Re: OSLauncher, LUA to TNS converter and TI document player
« on: April 25, 2011, 03:37:47 pm »
Well, I was able to run OS 1.7.2741 CAS from the 1.7.2741 basic only twice in a couple dozen attempts at doing so... Most of the time, it hung with a grey screen showing alternated top-left-bottom-right and bottom-left-top-right lines 2 pixels long.

Are any errors output to the RS232 port ?

A strange thing, I have used OS launcher to run 2.0 CAS from 2.0 regular on my Nspire at least five times already, and it has been successful every time, but when I tried to the same on my brother's Nspire with the same OS/files, it failed three times before finally working...

By the way, how'd you do the screenshot?

DJ made it for me in the computer software. :)

Am I the only one who thinks this game and the flashing smiley are both health hazards to the epileptic? ???
Nope, you're definitely not the only one :P

Yeah, I'll fix the "ship" to make it an arrow.  I made this game in less than an hour, and it was easier to type gc:fillRect(stuff) than to script out what was needed for the arrow. :P

I've got about 34 left.  I know my last day is June 9th, but I don't know if I have any scattered days off in between.

This looks nice. For some reasons the Tunnel game seems to flicker a lot, though. ???

It is supposed to do that. :P

The true effect comes when you play in color!  As I said in IRC, I should call it "Psychedelic Tunnel"! :P

News / A Second Set of Three!
« on: April 22, 2011, 11:35:32 pm »
In previous news we announced the development of three new Lua games for the Nspire:  15 Puzzle, Block Dude, and 9sweeper.

Now, we have yet another set of three new games!

First, ingalls has posted a demo of his game nFighter!

Here is a screenshot of it in action:

Secondly, noticing that there were no tunnel games for the Nspire, I whipped up a quick one in Lua (which can be downloaded here, ticalc, or TI-Bank):

Finally, TI-Bank member Spirikoi has released a two player Connect 4 game on TI-Bank

Screenshot:

We wish the above developers good luck in their projects! :)

Now, we will be in need of a third set of three games! :P

I tested this on the emulator; it is very nice! :)

Are you going to add color in the future? :)

TI has just officially announced that a new OS will be released next month.

Thats good to hear! :)

Hopefully, they won't do anything to hurt Lua (although I really doubt they will!).

I have not taken Latin myself, but all of the people who I know who take Latin (quite a few) seem to enjoy themselves in the class.  (Nevertheless, I have also heard countless stories that nothing is accomplished in the class :P).

Wow, OS 3.0 has brought epic fail for TI. :P

-Downgrade protection "broken" with TNOC
-Free game development with Lua
-Broken CAS Engine
-Bricking Nspires with boot 2 3.0

I can only imagine what is next... :P
