Nice pics Goplat! I remember I got OS 1.1 running on OS 2.0 (both non-CAS) by replacing the image present on the calc. The results were the same - the text was all messed up!

Also, I believe the CAS has a raised "CAS" on the back that would be all but impossible to remove.

TI France still has a page for the 84+/SE (same page for both) on their website, so I would guess that they are going to keep it, at lest for the time being...

I guess this would be possible to do... Actually, if I had to guess, I would think it would be much simpler to do this with the new CX, and all but impossible with the clickpads. The non-interchangeable keypad of the clickpad CAS would make it quite difficult to put into the keypad model. On the touchpads, it would take a bit of work, but I think all would work fine (to be honest, I doubt you would even have to touch the touchpad hardware, though ). As for the CX, as far as I can tell, they have the same "shape" indicating that the hardware will probably be extremely similar, if not exact, judging from the past trends.

Although I know Eclipse is available to use, I still use Notepad++/MSYS to build my Nsprie programs! Although it might be "easier", in a sense, to use a more "advanced" development environment, I find it best to just go with what you are used to using!

Yes, the two are signed with different keys. The only two differences I can think of between the two are (1) the obvious, the CAS has a full Computer Algebra System, and (2) the non-CAS, excluding the new CX model, supports 84 emulation. Other than that, both calcs are really the same thing.

Sorry to bump an old topic, but has there been any progress on adding CAS to the nspire basic?
I don't think that is possible using this method. Sorry.

As of this time, the TI-84 Pocket will only be sold in France. Will it eventually migrate to the US Line? Is TI using France as a test market? Only time will tell! I can't see another reason but that for Texas to release it in France only.
Well, not necessarily. It very well could be a French-only product. Stuff like the TI-82 Stats have been France only for years now.

After a mysterious announcement that later disappeared about a month ago, TI France has finally restored both the information page and new official pictures of the TI-84 Pocket, as reported by TI-Bank. Although an appealing part of this calculator is that it carries the same functions of the original TI-84 Plus, it also has several drawbacks. First, much like the new Nspire CX, this calculator does not come with a slide-cover, thus exposing the screen to the elements and increasing the likelihood of damage. Secondly, it only has the amount of memory of a normal TI-84 Plus, not the memory of the well-adored TI-84 Plus Silver Edition, thus showing a step backwards in memory size. As of this time, the TI-84 Pocket will only be sold in France. Will it eventually migrate to the US Line? Is TI using France as a test market? Only time will tell!

I made a special folder for the Ndless files that I named "Ndless" when I tried to install it.
Also make sure to unplug the calculator from the computer before installing Ndless (see the ReadMe file or Scout's tutorial).
I made sure to do that as well.
I double-checked everything (Operating system, Ndless version, cable) and tried installing Ndless several times on System 2.x but it freezes up on me every time.
Are you sure that you did not rename the file "ndless_resources.tns". I remember someone having issues for renaming it in the past. Also, I have sometimes had random builds of Ndless simply not work for me, but then I went back, recompiled the files (same version) and tried installing again and it worked. I have no way of explaining this (and the last time I experienced that was before the release of Ndless 1.7), but possibly something like that could be causing the issue?

lol, I remember I wrote an article on why the world would not end in 2012 last year in my keyboarding class. I guess I should go back and include this as one of my reasons!

Hmm.. from that picture, it looks like there is some guard over the screen, preventing direct contact. Hopefully, that would help to reduce the likelihood of screen damage. Still, I do think they should at least give a free cover with the thing. (Also, the color screen looks great! )
