Hi!  Welcome to Omnimaga!

It is nice to see a new 68k coder around! :)

Also, btw, I think one of your BASIC projects, Ballz, was the inspiration for my first (unreleased) C project for the 89! :)

According to one article I read about the CX, the old Nspires will still be produced short-term and TI will "let the market decide" if they will be produced long-term.

Although it was announced today that the Nspire CX woudl be "released" on TI's website tomorrow at noon, it seems they have already done so:

http://education.ti.com/calculators/products/US/nspire-family/

Lots of nice pics of the new calcs are there!

Here is the rundown of the new features of OS 3.0 Release Notes:

3D Graphing
Differential Equation Graphing
New Statistics Stuff
DataQuest App
Picture Viewing

Sadly, there is no mention of new programming capabilities, or updating the 84 emulator. :(

Here are the technical specifications of the TI-Nspire CX and the TI-Nspire CX CAS:

Screen size: 320 x 240 pixels
Screen resolution: 125 DPI; 16-bit color
Powered by the TI-Nspire Rechargeable Battery (included)
Memory: 100 MB storage memory / 64MB operating memory
USB port for computer connectivity, unit-to-unit communication with other TI-Nspire family handhelds.

:w00t:

UPDATE: Some new pictures of the calculator can be found below. We are linking to them since they are big:

Yeah I saw some messages about this over the web then on my FB this afternoon. I wonder in which timezone Texas is... it would be nice to not miss it

Comparing with my time zone (Eastern), Texas is one hour later (so for me, this will be at 1:00_
* apcalc thinks of a way he can get on a computer at 1:00...
I think this is Central Time Zone

Ah yes!  That has to be the most beautiful mathematical statement that exists! :)

Although I still sometimes refuse to believe in its beauty, this still eludes me more! :)

I assume you'll port Jumpman! :)

I hope you are recovering well from this! :)

If they have proper programming support, I bet someone could make an nes emulator for it.

An NES Emulator (NESpire) already exists for the Nspire! :)

merauder, I believe you have to add the root directory of 7zip to your path.

Seconding DJ's comments as an Nspire developer myself, work on projects, especially those as tedious as Ndless, can take a long time to get working.  Ndless 2 is available for download for developers so they can update their projects to be compatible with newer versions and so they can provide good bug reports.  The reason why you have to be able to build Ndless youself is because it is assumed that you are a Nspire Developer if you are able to build it.

At Omninmaga, I, along with many other members, will be perfectly willing to give you help in building Ndless, but, if we were to give one person a copy, everyone would start expecting one for themselves too.  :)

TI-Nspire / Re: TI-Nspire Video Player
« on: February 23, 2011, 08:09:59 pm »
I have one request I would like you to add in. Could you add in something that lets you press a button to exit mid-video? I know that is on many other ndless programs. I could use this for the middle of math class...

Actually, I do have that (along with a pause feature) already implemented, but when I built that video, I had them commented out.  I was testing how much space I could save by getting rid of them, and I forgot to add them back. :(  Sorry about this, they will be there in the final release! :)

Yeah I hated how the upper part was much larger. Personally I also disliked the colors of the clickpad calcs.

Ironically, when I first bought my Nspire, everyone in my school told me they loved the blue color (except myself)!  I still love the darker colors of the new models, though! :)

As far as the CX calcs go, I am pretty much neutral to which one I like more, but, I do like the design of the CX calcs much more than the old hardware design (those bulges really hurt in my pocket sometimes :P)!

News / TI-Nspire CX and TI-Nspire OS 3.0
« on: February 23, 2011, 07:37:12 pm »
Since the original news about the new TI-Nspire CX calculator was posted, some more information has come out about the calculator itself and the new Nspire Operating System, Version 3.0.

We have finally been able to see a picture of this calculator!:

TI-Bank has put together a collection of the screenshots currently available of TI-Nspire OS 3.0, which should be released any day now.  From the release of the latest TI-84 OS, we can predict that it will be updated with the new 84 ROM version 2.56 MP.  Here are some of the available screenshots of OS 3.0:

The last of these screenshots is also assumed to be TI's first official screenshot of the Nspire CX, as originally seen in this picture:

Also, interestingly, unless I have an issue with my web browser, this image has been removed from its original page page on TI's website.

Hopefully, more information will come about about the TI-Nspire CX and the new OS Version 3.0 in the next few days!  We will most certainly get more information when the T3 conference begins this Friday! :)

O.O

Apparently, TI-83 Plus Flash Debugger/SDK no longer comes with calc ROMs. When Advent downloaded the SDK from TI website, he got told he needs the ROM of the TI calc to run it. O.O

I remember they used to be included, as .clc files. O.O

I just downloaded this thing no less than 3-4 months ago, so this change must be pretty recent. :(
