General Calculator Help / Re: Manual Ndless Install
« on: October 19, 2010, 09:47:02 pm »
Can you use Nspire8x?

Other than that, I don't think you can install it manually (you might want to try to contact ExtendeD about it, as he might be able to revel how).

Also, you could use Ndless 1.7, which only requires the computer link software.

What blocks are unneeded?  I copied the levels directly from the original Block Dude/Trapped games, so I want to keep them as original as possible.  Also, speed is not a major concern with this seeing that I already have to slow it down a ton (and if I needed more speed, I could set the Nspire to run at 150 Mhz).

Also, yes Ndless is needed to run this program.

apcalc, I'm thinking of using Block Dude as a screenshot or video tutorial for the upcoming GDB support of of Ncubate. Wouldn't you mind?

Not at all!  Feel free to use whatever you need. :)

A small update on this:

I fixed a two bugs, one of them being particularly nasty (boxes and bombs would vanish if they fell more than 3 spaces).

Right now, I know of 2 bugs with the game, one of which is very simple to fix, the other being more complicated.

We never know. Maybe these things are more resistant than you think. ;D

Last year, I dropped my 89 from the top of my locker to a very hard concrete floor.  It hit at such an angle that the battery cover came off and all 4 batteries came out.  There was not one scratch on the calculator though! :)

I can't beat Trapped either! :P

* apcalc will have to figure out how to beat each level so they all can be tested :(

For Block Dude, I had to use some of the level solutions at Detached Solutions

I think it was just the battery.  If it was any of the other three, I am sure this would have happened earlier.

Glad to hear you are alright!

Is your Nspire ok, or is it destroyed too?

* apcalc thinks this has struck again:

TI-BASIC / Re: N-Spire programming
« on: October 17, 2010, 11:54:14 am »
I was actually working on Minesweeper in C for the Nspire, but I have not touched it in a while.  Maybe I should go back and work on it again. ;)

Also, you could just use calc84's emulator for the gameboy version of minesweeper.

Not to be rude, but I honestly don't think Nelson Souna's documents are that great.  I can't say I have tried all of them, but for most of them that I have tried, I have not been too impressed.  For example, the Periodic Table document is very hard to use as compared to the one on the 84 or TI-89 periodic tables.  It takes me a good, solid minute to scroll to a specific element using the clickpad/touchpad because I can never line the cursor up with the corner of the element square.  This is a task that would take seconds if the table was in ASM and the arrow keys were used to move between the elements.

The only document the Nelson Souna has written that is on my calculator is the Chemistry Library, which I must add is incomplete.  I added many functions to it to make it more useful (which I can't use now since I downgraded my OS :().
