At this point the calculator is useless for Math and such unless I magically can get an OS on it. Oh wells. Problem solved. Thanks everyone for your effort to help me!

General Calculator Help / Re: Ti-83 Absolutely will not connect

I found out why it didn't work. I had to push the wire down all the way to the root of the calculator and position the wire perfectly to get it to work. I did a software update, but I lost the wire position at like 70%. I think my calculator is messed up now.

Edit: Port inside had 2 broken pins so I tried to solder them back on and it still wouldn't connect to the software and if the pins come loose without the wire then the unit won't turn on. It's stuck into the software update until I can update. I'm just going to buy a new used Ti-84 +SE

Rebooting means clearing your RAM.

Tried it.

Maybe the link port is jsut broken and you won't be able to connect it :(

Noo!!! I refuse to give up! Lol. Anymore ideas? I don't want to give up on this so easily.

Tried a brand new batch of fresh 4x AAA batteries and it still doesn't work.

A couple things; make sure you have good batteries. Ti connect doesnt send/receive when the batteries are low. You can also try to find someone with another calculator and a link cable. Try seeing if you can send or receive that way. Link ports have actually been known to break.

I didn't have any 4x AAA batteries, but I'm going out this afternoon to get some. Will report back.

What about archiving as much data as you can, and rebooting the calculator ?

Got nothing really yo archive, but the defaults. Don't know how to "reboot", but will try the batteries first.

Yes, yes, yes, and yes. Pretty much yes to all.

Edit: It seemed that after I left the DeviceExplorer out idling for a long time (unplugged) it seemed to somehow detect my calculator which makes no sense then when I try to select it again because the calculator was off, it would find the calculator, but when I try to connect to it I get the same error again. Weird. I don't know.

I just forgot to put the plus in the title, but I've tried like every "solution" or "tutorials" I can't get it to work for some reason. I've tried for about 5 hours now. I searched the hell out of google lol. Nothing.

Problem:

Driver: (Only one related to the Calculator)

I installed the TI Connect, then TI-Graph Link (via CD), then plugged in my TI 83+ using a Silverlink cable, but when I try to connect using TI Connect (DeviceExplorer) and TiLP it won't detect my calculator. My computer detects it just fine, but just the software won't. When it is trying to connect the calculator freezes. It is ON for sure too. The OS is 1.12. I am running on Windows 7 64-bit. It worked once for me, but when I tried to transfer a file I didn't notice my calculator turned off so I missed my chance to transfer that one time and now it won't work again. ): I have tried to reinstall everything numerous time and even tried on a Windows 8 64-bit computer with Windows 7 compatibility. I tried different compatibilities too on my Windows 7 computer. This cable is brand new too, but the calculator is old.
