Other Calc-Related Projects and Ideas / Simple Polygon Rotator
« on: July 10, 2007, 11:24:00 am »
I originally was going to make a program that could draw rotated 3-D prisms, but it turns out that somebody already made that, so because I didn't want to waste the code I already have, I turned it into something that can draw any polygon rotated at any angle.  It's for the TI-89/Ti-92+/Voyage 200, and was written in C.

I didn't do much testing with it, but it should work.  The only thing you have to worry about is you need to make sure you use it correctly, or else it can crash your calculator.  Here is how to use it:

prism(row,column,angleInDegrees,mode,point1x,point1y,point2x,point2y,...)

It definitely should be fast enough.  All of the parameters are integers.  Here are the different mode settings:

0 - reverse
1 - normal
2 - xor
4 - replace
5 - or

To download this, see the attachment.

EDIT:  I decided to do some additional testing and realized I made a dumb mistake.  The latest attachment has this fixed.

I recommend the Revolution Grayscale Package.  I *think* the latest release can be downloaded http://www.revsoft.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=26&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=45 (look at the attachment in Jim E's post).

A relatively commonly debated topic, I thought it might be good to bring this up to spark some activity in Omnimaga.  :Dbiggrin.gif

So, what do you think?

I'm taking two summer courses, among other things.

I have a job caddying, assisting a golfer(s) by carrying around his/her clubs, cleaning his/her balls (hehe...), etc..  I only do it like three days a week, though, but I have to be there by 6:30 AM, which means that I have to wake up at like 5:30.  And once I get there, I have to wait until a golfer comes.  I might wait there until...oh, let's say, 8:00 PM, and not get paid at all.  Or, I might get to caddy for somebody at 3:00 PM, and then four-five hours later, finish my "loop," and then wait another 3-60 minutes to get paid (the default is $25.00 for me, maybe up to $40.00 if I get lucky), and then go home.  So, while it isn't really a horrible job, I don't like waking up early, I don't like having to go there as often as I do (I know I only go there like three days a week, but I really don't need the money, and would prefer to have more free time and sleep, but my mom forces me to go there when I don't need to anyway because she says work is good for me, which I don't completely disagree with, but...), and...I don't feel like typing anymore....

It's pretty awesome, but I want to get a faster CPU, although my AMD Semperon isn't too bad....

I should be able to switch it with an Athlon 64 without any problems, right?  Or would I have to reconfigure some stuff? What about just a better Semperon?

(It usually is fine, but when rendering some web pages, like Omnimaga, or applications that are kind of resource-intensive, it slows down.  I use Firefox/Konqueror, and they both can be pretty slow.  It also seems like there are a few bugs in Beryl....)

EDIT:  Btw, I have kind of good RAM (about a gigabyte of dual-channel DDR2), and a kind of good hard drive (although that probably wouldn't affect it too much....), so it's mostly me ~1GHz Semperon CPU I'm worried about.

Wow, FMR's desktop is totally awesome.  B)cool.gif  I've got to learn how to do that.
