TI Z80 / Text( scrolling
« on: December 09, 2006, 05:15:00 am »
Try to make it so that users can scroll down the the bottom of the list automatically and/or scroll 10 items at a time to make it so that scrolling through 200 items isn't too slow.  :)smile.gif

You can base your code off of the vertical scrollbar program from http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/391/39190.html, if you want (this actually isn't the latest version of Text Tools, but www.ticalc.org still hasn't added the newer version to the archives...after about three weeks).

Here's a screenshot of the scrollbar program, so you can see if you are, or aren't, looking for something like this:

TI Z80 / 3-D Grapher - In TI-BASIC!

That looks great!  Mine probably will have the same amount of features (or less :Ptongue.gif)).  Remember, this isn't exactly meant to be useful.

TI Z80 / 3-D Grapher - In TI-BASIC!
« on: December 08, 2006, 05:02:00 pm »
It would definitely be possible in MLC.  :)smile.gif  But note that MLC is mostly meant to be a game programming language.

I'm going to try to make it so that this program can detect intersecting graphs, find roots, etc.  I should probably focus more on MLC and Omnimaga - The RPG though.  :Ptongue.gif

TI Z80 / 3-D Grapher - In TI-BASIC!
« on: December 08, 2006, 04:48:00 pm »
I know I have way too many projects, but while I was waiting for my violin lesson yesterday, I started working on a 3-D graphing program - in TI-BASIC for my Ti-84+ Silver Edition.  Right now, it actually can graph simple equations (I didn't feel like making a complicated expression parser).  I know there's already a 3-D graphing program in assembly by Detached Solutions, but this is just something to occupy my spare time when I have a calculator with me, but not a computer.  Who knows, maybe it'll actually turn out kind of useful.  For now, though, it's just kind of a neat TI-BASIC program.

I'll try to get some screenshots up.  :)smile.gif

From experience?   :(sad.gif   But that doesn't mean all foster homes are way worse - that would be prejudice.   ;)wink.gif

Other Calculators / Best Shell for the TI-83+
« on: December 08, 2006, 11:52:00 am »
Right now, I'm liking DoorsCS.

Halifax: MirageOS provided common routines that everybody of course would use.  DoorsCS, well, opens the door to a new kind of GUI programming, that may take some time to get used to.  I like DoorsCS's interface in general.  I get confused with what does what when the little bar pops up when I press ALPHA though.  And even if a lot of people don't end up using DoorsCS's GUI routines, it's not like they're taking up 4 ROM pages or something.  I'm already liking DoorsCS6 and it hasn't even been officially release yet.  And remember - DoorsCS supports all of MirageOS's routines, plus more.  I'm not necessarily trying to convince you that MirageOS is horrible and DoorsCS pwns it, but I'm trying to say that DoorsCS isn't all that bad and has its pros.  I personally plan to make a few programs that take advantage of DoorsCS's GUI routines, sometime in the future.

Other Calculators / Best Shell for the TI-83+

Which shell is the best?  Are some shells better for certain things, while other shells are better for other things?  For example, I'm not saying this is necessarily true, but CrunchyOS might run assembly programs better than MirageOS but MirageOS has a better interface and runs TI-BASIC programs better.

Now that you mention it I haven't seen him in awhile either.

My thoughts exactly.  I wonder what happenned.  Hopefully nothing bad.  :(sad.gif  Don't worry (too much) though, he's probably fine.  :)smile.gif  Facinatingly Spengo's words also. The only thing I haven't really mentione that Spengo has is the part about the kangaroos. o.oblink.gif

Other Calculators / TI-86 Reset
« on: December 03, 2006, 04:46:00 pm »
My TI-86 reset.  Part of it might have been because there was practically zero battery life left, and most of it might have been that I was messing around with an assembly library called XCommand or something like that.  I used it to set all of the bits of the first 50 bytes after where IY points (like on the TI-83+, for you TI-83+ assembly programmers, when you would do set textInverse,(iy+textFlags) and things like that).  I thought it would make my calculator have a bunch of wacky mode settings and I don't know...have the home screen's contents on the graph screen or something cool like that.  Instead, it froze my calculator, and after I took one battery out and put it back in, its memory was cleared.  That wasn't exacltly the smartest thing I've ever done.  But when boredom takes a hold of me....

Arg...I had an awesome new version of Calcman Minigames that I was planning to release, a slightly updated version of Calcman 6, a bunch of useful mathematics programs, and some cool other programs.  Oh, well.  At least that's better than my computer crashing....

I was pondering whether to post this or not, but I figured that it at least might slightly concern the few of you interested in Calcman Minigames for the TI-86 and I guess this might warn future users of XCommand who want to see what happens when all of the bits of the first 50 bytes after where IY points are set (and/or anybody interested in my personal life <_<dry.gif ).  I suppose this is also sparking some activity in a place besides the spam board....

Hmmm, interesting.  I just noticed that all of these paragraphcs in the post ended in "...." (except for this one).

Is the screen ever supposed to get like this when I have only two Flash Applications - Finance and DoorsCS6?

Introduce Yourself! / Hi everyone
« on: November 30, 2006, 04:15:00 pm »
Welcome!

We need to order some more peanuts for this newcomer!

My sister/I (I use it more than her) has a TI-89 Titanium, so I suppose we can exchange our knowledge.  I also have a TI-84+ SE which isn't too different from your Ti-83+, a TI-86, and a Voyage 200.

We'll be glad to help you get started with programming, on te Ti-83+ and/or on the Ti-89 Titanium.  Would you be interested in programming in http://tigcc.ticalc.org for your TI-89 Titanium?  It is a fast and powerful alternative to TI-BASIC.
