TI 68K / MLC 68k
« on: November 03, 2006, 02:47:00 pm »
w00t MLC 68K has its first real command!  I need to make a variable-allocation table, a variable-name parser and expression parser, and a *better* command parser, but this is an important moment in MLC history ^^.  Once I make a better command parsing system, I'll add many more commands :)smile.gif.

The command is...CLRS.  It clears the screen.  :Ptongue.gif

Also, elfprince13, I think you were offering help with the parser, so, I'm working on the parser now, just so you know.

EDIT:  Added two commands  - PAUS and DRAW.  Commands may also begin with "#" (for compatibility with other versions of MLC) or "|" (for easy access on 68K calculators, but no compatibility.  Maybe in the converter, I could make it convert "|" into "#").  PAUS obviously pauses the program, waiting for any key press, not just enter.  DRAW updates the screen, because all drawing commands are drawn to hidden buffers.  This makes MLC programs automatically double-buffered :)smile.gif

EDIT AGAIN:  Added another command - HALT.  It stops execution of the program.

Great progress?  Are you kidding me?  Have any of you checked tifreak8x's signature?  ;)wink.gif

The website is up again.  :)smile.gif

But either something got messed up, or maybe it's just Internet Explorer, which is all the laptop I'm using right now has, but the style is completely messed up.   o.oblink.gif

EDIT:  I realized that I put

instead of

in one spot.  I'll get around to fixing that.

Although you, FMR, didn't specifically say so, I think many people are getting the wrong idea from me.  I'm kind of agreeing with both sides.

xlibman:  The comments weren't directed towards you, please don't get upset.  In my opinion, you successfully tricked many of us.

Erm...people who are misunderstanding me?:  Yeah, it isn't really a big deal though.  I enjoy a bit of fun here and there, and it only lasted a short time anyway.

Well, it seems as if I need another thread for MLC, because I want to talk about the on-computer converter and I don't know where to talk about it. :Ptongue.gif

So, anyway, I'm working on an on-computer converter in C++ that converts MLC programs to and from then TI-83+/TI-86/68K/Casio AFX calculators.  I'm no expert on calculator tokens, so if this turns out to be really difficult, well, it may end up taking quite a while.  I also might be able to do the TI-83+/TI-86/68K converter by myself, but I don't know enough about the Casio AFX to make the converter to and from that.  I've already pretty much got everything done except for the hard part: the parsing and outputting of the tokens.

And, although this should probably go in the MLC TI-83+ thread and I'll try to avoid doing this, Madskillz told me that he has been making some progress on MLC TI-83+, but I don't know the details.

Last but not least, remember that there is an MLC website, http://mlc.phpnet.us .

EDIT:  The website appears to be down now.  I might switch hosts due to the high down time.

I don't see why you're leaving. Have courage to stand up to problems.

Besides, it's not like anyone is mad at you. Don't take things so seriously.

I agree, like I said before:

xlibman needs to realize that the comments though weren't directed towards him, they were directed towards the problem and thought something was really wrong. In my mind, xlibman, you overall suceeded in tricking us.

All of us really wanted you to stay.  Anyway, what did you want people to say if they really thought something was wrong?  Did you want them to say, "Yea!  Everybody has the same nick-name!  Yeah, IPB can be faulty at times, but this bug/error is sure awesome!"?  I mean, really, the people who fell for it, not that it's a bad thing to fall for xlibman's trick, really believed that something was wrong, and were bothered by it.  They didn't mean to offend you or anything.  It would have been hard for them to offend you purposely anyway if they didn't even know it was who  was behind this.

I hope we've already conveyed this to you, but once again, we all want you to stay.  You're a great person and have helped us all a lot.

I didn't really mind, but something needs to be fixed because people were unhappy.  xlibman needs to realize that the comments though weren't directed towards him, they were directed towards the problem and thought something was really wrong.  In my mind, xlibman, you overall suceeded in tricking us.

It isn't a big deal, and I'd be sad and disappointed if you left because of this.  Next time, just talk this through with rivereye or whoever you should have talked this through with.  I'm pretty sure nobody hates because of this; they just might have been slightly annoyed by the confusion.  Also, when you are saying that you're going to leave all of the time, that also gets people annoyed, so please try to think  for a long time before you post and pull pranks.  I don't want you to leave, and I'm sure nobody else here does.  Just realize what happenned and fix it next time.

necro:  Yeah, I'm planning on making a converter.

Killerplayer:  Well, I've had a bunch of projects and homework lately, but within a few weeks when the first quarter of school is over, I should be working on MLC at a good pace.  :)smile.gif  Expect MLC programs to actually be able to do something, such as display text, within a week or two (or three, but hopefully not).

Liazon, you slow-poke!  Hurry up and finish your project!

Besides apogizing for not releasing your project, you should also apologize for giving me another heart attack (Radical Pi gave me the first one).

Looks cool :)smile.gif.  I like that it's physics-based.  I like any excuse to indirectly incorperate mathematics and science into my programs (with "indirectly" meaning not making a physics equation solver or something like that, but using physics to determine the some important factor in a game).
