Note that the OS is made to test both ASM and TI-BASIC programs. That includes ASM programs taking advantage of BCalls, so we can't assume that none of them will be used; same for the saferam areas.

On the TI-68k series, tiosmod+amspatch alleviates the performance problems, and we can re-sign the OS for seamless transfer..
That's what I meant by the performance problems being "fixable." However, we can still send our user-made OSes on emulators, and we don't need to send them to our actual calcs.

However, user-made OSes will have to emulate the behavior of both assembly and TI-Basic routines, without using TI's code.

This means in particular that we can not use the calculator on the same typing speed as the old calculators. We must wait until the screen refresh is completed, or some keypresses are going to be ignored.
For example in the video below, I press four times the right arrow at the same speed on TI-84 Plus and TI-84 Plus C Silver Edition to navigate the menus. The TI-84 Plus C Silver Edition ignores half of my keypresses! :O
I admit that it is quite painful when using the TI-Basic editor in insert mode or when you are at the bottom of the screen, but maybe it's because I'm too accustomed to previous TI-z80 models and a new user wouldn't mind?
Same for the TI-89 Titanium... The CSE isn't the only model with this problem. However, the 68k series's key delay can still be fixed.

I wish my school were like that.

I'm getting a Casio Prizm soon. Do you know any emulators other than Casio's?

But wouldn't the ROM include TI's OS?

Yay! Another test version. Unfortunately, due to TI's EULA, this will be the last until that stupid emulator clause is lifted. I would have provided the C source, but what use is it without being able to use TI's OS on TIEmu? By the way, I provided one easy installation program for your disposal.

As you know, TI is keeping us from using any of their stuff (including the OSes!) on emulators not from TI. ( http://ourl.ca/18393) I'm planning to protest against this injustice at my school. You can do the same. What do you think?

I believe that it would be almost impossible to create a system that cannot be circumvented. But also, there is practically no way for TI to know whether we're using their stuff on our emulators.

Actually, the Nspire CX costs more. And at least Casio isn't actively trying us to stop programming.
Also, I wasn't bashing about the 84C. I was just mentioning that FF had a banner not too different from mine.

or a finished top-down shooter.
I could write a bullet hell, especially if there isn't already one.

I made something small for this catastrophe. And sure, I'll play the sound and get my parents to let me buy a Prizm. Alarm

Any ideas on what to do on the Prizm, then?

Nope. Only a TI-84 + SE and a TI-89 Titanium. However, I'm planning on get a Prizm due to TI's addendum on its EULA: You may not use the Licensed Materials on any emulator of a TI calculator unless the emulator is obtained from TI.
