I've tried following instructions, but I always get stuck after I fill the white and the bottom 2 layers. I just don't understand what the instructions mean after that.

I got out my old Rubik's cube today and tried to solve it. Gave up after 6 hours straight of trying to follow the directions on the Rubik's website. How do you guys do it??  ???

Does the Super Gameboy count? If not, then my personal favorite would be Mega Man X. Fond memories with that game. :)

TI-Nspire / Dosbox for nspire?
« on: November 21, 2012, 11:41:58 pm »
Would it be possible, in theory, for Dosbox to be ported over to ndless? It uses SDL, which has already been accomplished on the nspire. I was wondering if the source code could be used for old dos programs such as Zork.

Is there any way we could possibly get an x86 emulator such as dosbox running? That would open up quite a few doors for programs and games.

You might be interested in mednafen as an emulator. I believe there is arm source code available.

Something else to note is that speed is also dependent on the game you are playing. While Pokemon Ruby runs at full speed, Mario Kart is awfully slow at the same settings.

EDIT: Also watch out when playing large games. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon restarted the calc at first run, but ran it the second time. There probably wasn't enough ram allocated the first time to play a 32mb game. Speed is excellent once it gets started though.

EDIT 2: It would be nice if there was an ndless program that could clear out the ram instead of having to restart the calc. If you close out of the rom and reopen it, it restarts like the ram is full again. Slightly annoying, but will definitely be overlooked.

This is awesome!! I loaded up Pokemon ruby and it runs almost full speed without overclocking with nover. Gonna try overclocking later and seeing the results then. I am gonna see about modifying my gpsp files on my psp and working that out on my cx. Great job to everyone able to make this a possibility! :)

It looks pretty good! I am curious how well it would run on my touchpad nspire though. It has a minimal amount of RAM and that grayscale screen. I think i would rather have it on my CX. :P
Well, as I mentioned in another topic, only the CX is supported anyway (mainly because of the larger RAM). It's also nice to be able to overclock higher.
Ah. Okay. Thanks for clarifying! :)

TI-Nspire / Re: Lua-based Ebook Reader (Does not require ndless)

I think this could work as a sort of on-calc readme file creator. You could just type up the readme in a txt document for the zip file and make a converted lua file for opening on-calc. That would be perfect for people like me who don't read the readme, can't figure something out, and then can't find the readme. :P

I know I am usually busier in the summer and am more active around school. I will try to bring more discussion and that will be easier with the new tapatalk integration, as I am usually away from my computer. I did notice a major slowdown on posts though.

Well with android you can also use different markets. For instance, you could buy an amazon gift card and use it on the amazon app store for android. I don't understand why apple charges app makers so much. That's the one thing keeping me away from iOS developing. And the fact that the app must be made on a Mac, as there is no windows sdk. If TI were to do something like that, it would be a real shame. I would miss gbc4cx too much. :-\

Just look at my post count lol :P

But the problem here is that the Android Market only accepts credit cards...
Yeah. It still bugs me that they don't carry prepaid cards for the market. You could go out and buy a generic prepaid visa though. That's what I usually do.

If you are a big forum browser like I am, the $3 is worth it. You could also wait for the app to go on sale if you really wanted to. :)
