I will probably release the source code for Portal Edit (the level editor) but it's a little bit of a mess anyways so I'm not sure quite who would benefit, but hey, maybe the compression/decompression stuff will be useful or some other technique.

I like the idea of two different styles of platforms, but if you have to choose only one, I would go with the kind that makes you move with it.

*sniff* I'm so proud of you, parser, my star pupil. (my only pupil. and not really actually my pupil). ...methinks you may have used that appvar technique from my GPOS thread? (it's totally fine, I'm just curious)

YES! THIS is what I've been waiting for! I almost started doing something like it myself (I have an Arduino Uno that is currently useless) but it'd be too much work, I'm not a good enough hardware hacker, and my parents prolly wouldn't let me...oh well, but please please please post step by step instructions, when this is finished.

okay I pretty much have no idea what's going on in that screenie, having never played the flash game (I will, sometime), but it looks awesome.
EDIT: K, I think I got it now.

The level editor is coming along, and a reasonable estimate for the completion of the level editor is the end of this week, hopefully it's done by then. I'm not sure when the second beta will be released, because I don't know if the level editor really is the only thing holding it back.

The menu looks great, as does the game itself. IMO it doesn't have to be just a placeholder, that could be the final menu (cept maybe the options screen)

I'm thinking probably bigger sprites would be okay as long as you have a really fast and smooth (please please please make it smooth) way to scroll through different screens and scroll through all your elements and whatnot.

I don't think we're going to do beta testing for the editor, but it will be publicly released as soon as it's workable, because it's the main thing bogging down the Portal Prelude release.
