For packaging, we can use printed boxes. Makes it look professional but doesn't cause the user to go #$%^@&$! when trying to open it. Think smartphone boxes, with their component trays and everything.
This. I just had a lovely fight with an Nspire box today.

That said he progressed a lot on TIGCC a few years ago. I remember new updates would come out every week or so. It just stalled after 2006.
EDIT: On a more on-topic note, the TI-Nspire clickpad is no longer available on the Canadian Staples website. What does this means?
Urp, TI is going to kill the clickpad line

It doesn't; that's why we hate them so much. Another one: calcs are way overpriced for their hardware capabilities. And fyi the exploit is called Ndless, not Nleash. I get all the "N" names confused too

558. When you tried to remotely control that TI-80 with a iTouch, you accidentally made the TI-81 colorscreened. 559. The first thing you did when you found out is play a rickroll video complete with sound on the remotely-controlled TI-81.
560. That iTouch was emulated on a TI-73.

OTARM will also require a fail-safe bootloader for in case a user manages to break their calc, which is entirely possible with root privileges. The main filesystem should be FAT, FAT32, or ext2, I believe. Assuming that we're going to use flash memory, ext3/ext4 will wear out the flash much faster because of the journaling. SD cards need to use FAT/FAT32 simply because of Windows.
The bootloader should be read-only, like the Nspire's boot1. This provably prevents a total bricking. I think that the firmware should boot straight into a menu that has math related links all over the place. We don't want to dump them in a desktop, and have them freak out when they were expecting a calculator. User friendly is the key, and calculators have lots of users. And we should start from the kernel, in my opinion, not from an OS. Computer OSes are not suitable for calculators, and we should not be porting one. Calculator users don't need a desktop, or multiple, but should still be able to reach cool linux programs outside the realm of normal math usage.
We can port a Linux distro like Debian without dragging in all of the desktop stuff; basically, a kernel + a package management system.

Excellent. You missed Hackspire, though And I think its Detached Solutions, not Detached s Solutions.

Yeah, Kevin Kolfer + project == dead project I hope Ndless 2 appears at some time, especially since I'm getting a Touchpad CAS tomorrow. Hmmm...I should contact ExtendeD about alpha/beta testing and/or development.

Nope, the skeleton supports the arm-elf versions only. If you can modify it to work with 4.5.0 and post it, I'll attach it to the OP (I don't have a Windows machine to test on, so I can't update it).

Eh, if emulators ran on OS's then they would be illegal, no?
anywho, this looks great, I would not need to by a TI-89T then
It is generally accepted that emulators are legal no matter what they run.

Hopefully, this is just a temporary hiatus, and JSJ will return in a while. Until then, we'll miss you!

Unfortunately, you will have problems plugging the ClickPad in, since TI intentionally changed the shape of their hardware.
That is only with the Nspire CAS (the black one). The regular Nspire is fine I believe.
Really? O.o That's good to know. If you do use 1.1, be warned that there is a power management bug that forces you to reboot your calc every time you turn it on.
