calc84 said on UTI that since TI's LCD initialization function does not work on newer hardware, we can't turn on the screen.
I do think we need a at least an alpha release of the 89 emulator. It doesn't matter whether its fast or not, so long as it runs the AMS.
How are dialog boxes very, very useful for math? The Nspire was meant to do math via user defined functions that take arguments. We can't have anything interactive without graphics commands in BASIC, anyway.

Try the fix calc84 wrote.

In theory, RunOS would be legal. Like this emulator, it would be able to run OSes using the upgrade files on TI's own website. Even if it were perfectly legal, TI's bigger, better lawyers would win in court if they tried enough (i.e. if they felt their profits were seriously threatened).

Just because its legal doesn't mean TI will sympathize, since people have ways of obtaining ROMs. This might cause them to take legal action against the writers of Ndless (probably something about disassembling the OS and violating the Nspire EULA).

I wonder if this is running into legal issues like RunOS. TI definitely wouldn't appreciate this, since it cuts into 89 sales.

I think the readme says changeable frameskip is a planned feature.

Does the nSpire have any wireless capabilities?

It's Nspire, not nSpire.

The wireless TI-Navigator definitely uses Wi-Fi, so we have the hardware. The software is another thing, however...
Maybe someone could write some drivers for a USB wireless adapter in the future. The high price of the Navigator seems to be an insurmountable obstacle.

A StarCraft clone might actually be possible, given that StarCraft runs on a 90 MHz Pentium with 16 MB of RAM. The fact that StarCraft is not open-source would certainly thwart any attempts to port it, though.

The fact that this comes a week after the release of Ndless must be more than just coincidence. But unless Google Translator is wrong (and it very well could be), a post on yAronet says that downgrading is still possible in 2.0.
I wonder if TI intends to phase out the old Nspires and replace them with a new model incompatible with OS 1.1?

Throwing an error lets the user know they entered an invalid input, whereas returning 65535 makes them get a wrong answer.

Whoa! Crazy!
So from now on, when someone asks what 1/0 is, we can say 65535 ;D.
I do agree with Builderboy that this is a nice feature, although it might produce strange bugs in math programs. Then again, who would ever write math programs in Axe?

But TI certainly wouldn't like it, maybe enough to cause us trouble. Then they might start sending DMCA notices again (according to Brandon Wilson on UTI, TI does not like people modifying their software).

btw anyone knows what's the biggest GBC ROM file ever?
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (the last North American GBC game ever) was 8 MB
EDIT: blarg, never mind. I divided wrong. 32 mbits = 4 MB.

I think I saw some GIFs of Ndless installing OS image files somewhere on one of the French forums. It seems like its possible but would run into legal issues.

Yes, the hack only works on OS 1.1
