I can understand if a teacher want to take away someone's calc for playing games, but that's just ridiculous. Your teacher has some kind of problem with people being smarter than her
People who are like this ^ Also, though it was written in Ancient Greece, I feel a quote from "Medea" is in order MEDEA Alas! this is not now the first time, but oft before, O Creon, hath my reputation injured me and caused sore mischief. Wherefore whoso is wise in his generation ought never to have his children taught to be too clever; for besides the reputation they get for idleness, they purchase bitter odium from the citizens. For if thou shouldst import new learning amongst dullards, thou wilt be thought a useless trifler, void of knowledge; while if thy fame in the city o'ertops that of the pretenders to cunning knowledge, thou wilt win their dislike. I too myself share in this ill-luck. Some think me clever and hate me, others say I am too reserved, and some the very reverse; others find me hard to please and not so very clever after all. Be that as it may, thou dost fear me lest I bring on thee something to mar thy harmony. Fear me not, Creon, my position scarce is such that should seek to quarrel with princes. Why should I, for how hast thou injured me? Thou hast betrothed thy daughter where thy fancy prompted thee. No, 'tis my husband I hate, though I doubt not thou hast acted wisely herein. And now I grudge not thy prosperity; betroth thy child, good luck to thee, but let me abide in this land, for though I have been wronged I will be still and yield to my superiors. Only the first part (about cleverness) is applicable here. I can't really stand people who can't tolerate the more intelligent...

Nah, I bump is a good thing here. Keep us informed, calc84maniac! Maybe it's on hold, idk...

The problem with Asm( is that it's difficult to read hex, while reading ASM is much simpler in comparison. Just my opinion Maybe I should just wait for Mosaic at this point, though mixing Axe and ASM would be nice.

We would then need commands to access them (overloading?), and ways to deal with register pairs as a whole (like a way to do "ld (de),a", for example), and also more instructions (like in a,(N) or in b,(c) or even rlc ixh ) I'd personally like an inline assembler (w/o labels, as above) but this could work too

Direct register access would be interesting... But at that point, it's pretty much straight ASM... Maybe you could have a small inline assembler? No need for label support or anything. That would still be a lot of work, though. 8-bit math would definitely be useful; I'm already thinking of some optimizations I can make to my programs

We need more volunteers for this sort of thing I for one can probably help in this regard. I offer the community my services.

Nice to see address-of! Very handy, I've been wanting that for a while. The size optimizations are nice too. Keep up the good work!

i was going to show her, but didn't after she took a student's calculator away when the student made a program to do sigma notation (i lol'd, thinking of the sum(seq([EXP],[Var],[start],[end])) trick.
Wow... That's saddening.

Hm... why would they? If it's because they have to intercept and check if they should act, then even DCS will cause that to happen, though this should be insignificant. Probably the largest problem is that they are normally executed at 6MHz, even on a 15MHz calc. I'm not sure if DCS changes the speed up or not, though.

Like running archived and/or assembly programs from the homescreen? That's a parser hook, in which Doors CS will intercept it and treat it appropriately. If you mean the GUI, then, for ASM that's just it being used as a library, and for BASIC, another parser hook. The [ON] hooks are keyhooks (another type of hook) Doors CS never "runs in the background," though

What about iPart(? It's in the math menu near float{ and whatnot.

That sounds like it'd work nicely I say go do it!

I think it would be useful only if it was the variable part? Since if it was constant, using / or ^ would be a bit easier. Using it as a variable could be useful for half byte tilemapping
Exactly. You can't really have something that returns the upper nibble if X is 0 and the lower if X is 1 inline in an expression, can you?

First Hot_Dog, then you. (And _player1357, or so I've heard) We'll miss you. * calcdude wonders what happened, but will not ask out of respect
