I've played a few times, and the most I ever got was ~10 (I think I got very lucky, my skill with Tetris is such that I normally only get ~4/5 lines in Bastet)

Good for you DJ, sticking with the community I'm afraid I'm not going to enter in the Axe contest, since I will be devoting time to my OS, not to mention I was never much of a contest person (I've never entered in one, actually, but, again, I'm not going to enter this time.) Sorry about that. Maybe a later contest, my OS having been worked to a good state.

No, I'm not talking about the Egyptian goddess. A quote from the website: Have you ever thought that Tetris is evil because it never sends you that straight "I" brick you need to clear four rows? Well, Tetris(R) probably is not so malevolent, but Bastet certainly is. >:-> Bastet stands for "bastard tetris", and is a simple ncurses-based Tetris(R) clone for Linux. Instead of choosing the next block randomly, this fiendish program uses a special algorithm to give you the worst possible brick. Playing Bastet can be a very frustrating experience! If you've never played, I suggest you give it a try (even if only to find frustration ) Link: http://fph.altervista.org/prog/bastet.htmlA screenshot (also from the website):

Actually, with luck I'll be able to take my laptop with me, and, since I have all the documentation I need on it, I can probably work on it anyway, even w/o internet.

Feel free to tell the community when you won't be able to access omnimaga. You may also brag I will personally be gone from Saturday (June 26) to probably half-way through next week. I may be able to post for the first few days, but almost certainly not after that * calcdude doesn't feel like bragging, so he's done

It is in Wabbit, courtesy of it being copied directly from the calc hardware Yeah, luckily, the arrow keys are in their own group, otherwise things would be so much worse...

Port 04h is the one to be interested in, as it allows you to set the hardware timer speed (bits 1 and 2, with 00 being the slowest, 11 the fastest) Port 03h for saying what generates interrupts, as always.

Also note that those keys form boxes, which can make the calc think other keys are being pressed. (The keyboard hardware is silly at times) In addition, 36/35 and 27/26 are near each other (which corresponds to being in the same column and group), which probably helps with response times. Edit: That pause doesn't help as the speed problem is w/in the getKey() itself.

Not again... I'm not sure why they think chat is bad, but unless he absolutely needs to, then he probably should stay away from chat. * calcdude goes to resolve the tard muffin/tardmuffin issue

You can push boxes (or rather cubes ) around in the original game? I don't think so... Picking them up is truer to the original game, and if it is indeed simpler, than definitely go with it. Great screenie, too. Keep up the good awesome EPIC work!

Oh boy, choices, choices. 51) The headphone jack is used for communicating between computers. 52) Only two computer may communicate at a time 53) The computer has other ports, but they are undocumented, used by the OS only. 54) The headphone jack only supports two states, powered and unpowered. It's not even supposed to be used to play sound, but to link! (51)
