It might be stack-oriented. Can't tell. Or maybe he just likes it that way

In less depressing words, does anybody at all know completely how the certificate works besides BrandonW, who himself might not know everything?
Also, is there some system call you might hook into to validate it? If it exists, it seems safer than modifying the certificate. 408
Other / Re: I got the source for CP/M 3.0, any idea what we can do with it?« on: June 01, 2011, 10:03:16 pm »Hmm... Looks interesting. I wonder what screen resolutions are supported for the Z80 version, and how much space it would take up. I'm also curious as to what if any programs are included in the os (word processor, basic calculator etc.)?For resolution, it expects and 80-char wide terminal. Someone would have to hook scrolling the screen into it somehow. I'm not sure anything is included besides the terminal. 409

1.
Quote hello I guess :P2. Prompts you. If it's not a number, it displays "not a number!" and breaks (exits, whatever). Otherwise, it counts up from 1 to the number you entered, printing each one. Then it prints that line starting "That was an awesome"... 3 & 4, what Ruler said. 410

I've heard of this before, but never gotten involved, and now Goplat's given me excellent reason not to.
It seems that mining would be fair as long as the difficulty remains constant, but that remains ignorant of increasing computing power. How badly could things go if the system was open-ended, that is, if there was no fixed limit on the amount of coins in the system? (It's probably a bad idea. If so, please state this outright and say why. ) This would make it necessary to mine all the time and consistently upgrade one's hardware to protect oneself from the ongoing hyperinflation, but at least it prevents early adopters from creating a vast store of easy money... 411
Site Feedback and Questions / Re: Random Topic Button« on: May 31, 2011, 12:25:53 am »
Is it going to the first post after where you last posted in the topic or to the first unread post? (I still need to try it out, so I'm just trying to clarify.)
At any rate, nice! 412

A couple days late, perhaps, but good luck with life, and whatever it is that is afflicting you (no need for details unless you wish, of course.)

Indeed. However, someone on Cemetech has had a similar idea, and, as Ben Ryves has pointed out, there are issues (see http://cemetech.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6323) However, with some adjustments, and breaking compatibility for all existing programs, this could work quite well. (no sarcasm intended)

Good luck! We've had previous attempts at similar things, but they tended to scale up rather badly from what I heard
So, again, good luck, and with luck we'll get something usable. A fun exercise in optimization, methinks 415

Heard about this. General agreement about hoping that this isn't as bad as last year's.
I wonder how much media coverage this will get (last year's got lots)... 417
TI Z80 / Re: Mirror Image« on: May 23, 2011, 11:31:17 pm »Looks simply, but also difficult to play. Nice!Agreed. However, I will have to bug you with one thing, though: it seems to be fixed in the newer version, but the old one seems to on occasion invert the text colors after exit (note the white-on-black "Done"). Probably just that you forgot to reset a flag (ASM) or use the appropriate Fix command (Axe). 418

The current Linux version is several _major_ versions behind the Windows and Mac ones, and has been.
And there are other video chat programs besides Skype, mind you, but they aren't advertised so most aren't well known. (I'm talking about GPL-licensed ones here ) Edit: 1800th post at last. Goodness that took a long time... |
