A more realistic example than the "1 and 2" one is in the potential optimization of this code segment: If A=/=0 and (B=/=0You might think "Hey, it's testing =/=0; I can just remove that!" But, if A=1 and B=2, for example, "A and B" will yield a different result. That's part of how I encountered bugs a few times. Also, Ashbad, your code works just the same as If X=0 and (Y>5) or (Y=16)(You don't need the parentheses around the arguments to " and ") Note too that just because they are bitwise doesn't mean that you need parentheses. Those rules apply for any infix (taking arguments like "ArgA OPERATION ArgB") operator, and probably others. What you said is just a direct effect of Axe's utter lack of order of operations Also, after someone else posts another feature request, if we want to talk about this more could we do it in another thread? Otherwise it makes it a bit hard to see feature requests

Goplat: Latin is far, far worse for Google Translate. Take, for example, the pair of sentences haec feci quia poteram I did these things because I could These mean the same thing. Asking Google Translate to take Latin to English gives this: I could have done, because these things And from the original English to Latin: feci haec quod potui Which translates correctly back to English (though it originally had "propter" for "quod", which is wrong grammatically.) So, using it to understand Latin fails, and you need some knowledge of Latin to get it to work in the other direction. Quisquamne hic est qui Latine scribere possit?

Different things work best for different people. My teacher likes to recommend flashcards, which help a lot of people. There are lots of other techniques. You can associate a word with a similar-meaning derivative, for example.

Well, the only two main parts are grammar and vocabulary. Being "fluent" to some extent is also rather difficult.

Those are definitely bitwise. For example, "1 and 2" returns 0, though, if it were logical, it would return 1. This happened to be the source of several bugs in some of my Axe programs, mind you

Ah, that's what you meant. Silly me We used Jenney's First Year Latin for years I-IV ( ) and in IV we also use some book for Ovid's Metamorphoses. Edit: I'll just create a new topic, the old one's in Spam and I don't want to move it.

I'm taking Latin IV right now, so obviously I don't think it's evil The hardest part of any language is acquiring a sizable vocabulary. Learning any language is also, like above, a lot of work, so don't get upset if your first experience is awful Good luck! Also, I'll bump a Latin-language thread that's rather old for anyone interested in the language or writing in it.
