VLC can be made to record the desktop.  Edit: It does take a bit of tweaking, though.

I don't go out too much, so I'm not sure if they're here yet. Haven't seen them in the ads in the newspaper, though. I'll keep checking  On a somewhat related note, I think I'm going to wait before the (non)existence of an SDK is announced before I decide whether or not to buy one.

JFrame is a standard part of Java and it isn't a library.
It's used to created frames. (Hence its name)
