Well, I guess this can be tied to circles. Circles can only have 2 tangent lines if they aren't touching. Maybe the same rule applies for parabolas whose curves are in opposite directions?

You have to make sure that the points you chose only touch each x^2 equation once, and stay on the outside edge, because if they were on the inside they would intersect each equation in 2 places. That narrows down the selection a lot, especially when you are dealing with tangents that must be tangent to two functions/equations. I'm actually not in calculus, but I really like math and from looking intensely at a 96 x 64 graph of all four equations, it does seem that those two lines are the only lines that perfectly work.

You find two points that only touch the two equations once each (a tangent), then calculate the slope for each using the slope formula, then b.
y2-y1 -------- = m x2-x1
Both of those lines touch each equation only once, making them each tangent to both y = x^2 and y = -x^2 + 6x - 5
Hope that helps

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Pilotwings, Super Mario Kart, and Earthworm Jim 1/2
Some amazing games that weren't on the list. Actually, I need to play my SNES soon, it's been a while

Welcome to Omnimaga Rienzi! Out of curiosity, what type of mods did you make for MW2? And for the GBA emulator, it would just be easier to code the Pokemon game from scratch, plus you could make it how you wanted

Bowser in his happy balloon in the super nintendo version of super mario. gives me shudders just thinking about it...
I hated that thing too, especially the third stage (the bouncing part)!

Slider puzzles would be cool if you needed to unlock a lock or to turn on power

I like the flash game robot wants kitty, it would make a nice calc platformer, although the level is huge

Welcome to Omnimaga... you should introduce yourself. Try using pixel collision ( pxl-test() ) Just checking the x&y values of the object to be tested to every other object works for games without many walls or a bunch of the same objects. The first would be the easiest if you have many differently programmed objects Also, I think that every command in Axe uses (x,y) unlike BASIC, which is normally (y,x) Personally, I program enemies and walls super simple, have one AI that checks to see if it is in collision with my player for every enemy on the screen, and I usually define the walls as the borders of the screen (cause I'm lazy ). This works well for me, and if you are using data arrays (all that {pointer} stuff), then it should be fairly simple for collisions (at least for enemies). Hope that helped! Good luck!

Ether = about 2% of the game (I'm guessing, based on the old gbc pokemon games)
3569 bytes * 50 = 178,450 bytes
Oh my holy crap.

Wow... that's amazing tifreak! If the ether alone takes up over 3500 bytes, I can only imagine how big the finished game will be! Good luck!

is enderman out yet? I will HATE it if it did XP
Yes, the endermen are in the leak, but they are still buggy and ender pearls don't currently do anything

I know that you could create a new appvar and copy your data into it, which is similar to what you are suggesting

The Wii VC version of SMB is not patched - you can access Minus World there. I've done it a few times. Some games have had minor non-gameplay-related patches applied to them (like fixing the spelling of Gannon), but the 3DS versions seem to be identical to the North America versions that were released on Wii VC. (Even if you live in a PAL region. )
Ah, I did not know that SMB was unpatched for wii vc, and can you not play your games?
