You shouldn't need to keep the coordinates, why can't you just call the routine that draws Reuben when pushing the blocks? Are you redrawing the map every frame? Really i'd think you'd just not update the buffers and just erase the blocks. It's looking great though

That really sucks, i hope you can at least find a copy of Metroid somewhere. And i'm sure it was more than calc stuff you lost, sorry to hear

It shouldn't be too hard, you just add an animation counter and draw a different sprite every so many frames. Or do you mean hard to draw? Animating the propeller really shouldn't slow down the game at all.
It's looking really nice, i especially like the menus and the font!

That's actually really impressive, how fast is it with wider blocks? In the screenshot i only see up to what looks like 3 blocks wide. I also like the name, btw. I think the current random pattern is fine (especially with wider or split blocks), if it always appears under the player then you can just move the same way every time a new block appears.

I was hoping that "dead project" mean you were releasing the source to it, it's sad to hear that the source was lost forever! I also remember being amazed by this over at MC years ago. In other news, the Metroid source was recovered not that long ago, so maybe now that this project is officially dead Metroid could be brought back from the dead

Yeah i'd rather see less people hiding their source code. But really don't see this as a tool for protecting your source. If for some reason you don't want to share your source just don't release it, and it's easy enough to unprotect a BASIC program I do however like the idea of having encryption on the calc so that your math teacher can't see that funny picture you drew of them and can't read the notes you've got saved on there.

It sounds like a really cool project, but why not release the source? If you don't share the source of course it'll be unreadable Either way it looks like you got quite a lot done already, even if you don't plan on continuing it thanks for sharing.

The borders look great, if you can put those in it'd look much better

The batch system sounds essentially like NoShell, where you could just run programs straight from the homescreen. That would be nice, as would having autocompletion (perhaps pressing right would autocomplete the program) I can't wait to see what this turns out to be

So basically typing "ls" will just run an AppVar named ls? I honestly think a GUI that scans all hybrid-compatible AppVars/programs ion-style would be easier, but i dunno. The CLI sounds nice though and is probably what a lot of people do anyway with so many programs on their calculators. I'm curious what sort of "special commands" you could have or that it'd be worth having. Can you pass arguments to them?

I like the first gif better, too. The second one looks too slow in drawing/erasing. The battle screen also looks nice

Ah, so that's quite a bit left to do then I thought the main bulk of it had already been done. What sort of things do you have planned for the CLI? I figured it was essentially a shell so all you'd really need to do would be to run programs. A CLI sounds a lot more complicated to write than a GUI
