Zugelassen in Niedersachsen :)

TI-Nspire / Re: nTxt - Nspire Text Editor

You probably just couldn't see it because the documents screen isn't refreshed. This doesn't work with ndless currently, sorry. After a reboot it should be there.
You can refresh the documents screen by using refresh_osscr() ;)

And the last thing, I didn't manage to save properly using Ctrl+S. Quitting and saving poduced a noname file but when I tried to save with Ctrl+S, I wrote /documents/nTxt/test and there was no test file ???
You probably have to add the .tns ending.

And it's always nice to see new Nspire projects :)

OSLauncher shows the same behaviour when launching an OS on a touchpad calc.

Update:

- Color support (256 colors, with 16 predefined colors like NIO_COLOR_RED)
- The cursor shows if shift/ctrl/caps is activated

Hi Albert, thanks for this nice feature :)
Yes, I didn't work on Nspire I/O for a longer time but I was always around in the forums - If you would've sent me a PM I would've integrated your changes into the trunk directly - but no problem, I'll do it this afternoon when I have time :)

And by the way, I made a lot of syntax changes a week ago:

The functions have completely changed and have the same syntax as
their stdio-counterparts now:
(with nio_-prefix)
fflush
fgetc
fgets
fprintf
fputc
fputs
getc
getchar
gets
perror
printf
putc
putchar
puts

All functions that don't have a FILE* stream / nio_console* c
argument, use a default console specified by nio_set_default().

Using the old syntax is possible by defining NIO_KEEP_COMPATIBILITY.

It is possible to replace the stdio-functions putchar, puts, getchar,
gets, printf, perror with nspireio functions by defining
NIO_REPLACE_STDIO, so you can use nspireio as stdin/stdout (just call
nio_use_stdio() at the beginning and nio_free_stdio() at the end of
the program).

Example:
Code: [Select]
#include <os.h>
#define NIO_REPLACE_STDIO
#include <nspireio2.h>

int main(void)
{
    nio_use_stdio();
    puts("Hello World!");
    nio_free_stdio();

    wait_key_pressed();
    return 0;
}

The same is possible with the UART functions (that work with disabled
interrupts) by defining UART_REPLACE_STDIO.

So, I'll merge your changes with r44 and probably release it as 3.0.

Site Feedback and Questions / Deletion of PTTKiller topics
« on: June 08, 2012, 01:46:31 am »
Since I was offline when both topics about PTTKiller were deleted, I'd like to get an explanation from one of the managers (or whoever did it) why this had to be done (there would've been several other ways of "solving" this, for example removing the attachments, deleting specific posts or locking it and deleting the complete topic is definitely the worst of them in my opinion, but maybe I'm wrong)

I don't want to discuss here, I just want to get a statement from one of the managers.

But you have to respect other coders too. They have coded nDoom, gbc4nspire, nSDL, NESpire, mviewer, nPlayer, nspiremovieplayer, nclock, and I am surely forgetting some. You can't just destroy all of it by releasing this tool. That would be very disrespectful. Think about Chockosta: he had everything to make a MineCraft clone but felt demotivated because of TI's actions. I don't want to say that it is your fault but still.
Moreover, all of your tools need nDless, so you are just harming yourself doing this.
Are you serious? I am guilty for TIs actions and disrespectful to other coders?
I had this finished like months ago, but waited for this release. Ndless is blocked, downgrade protection will probably be added in the next OS anyway, so why should I suck up to TI?

You can't blame me for TIs stupidity; They always tried to block Ndless, even before I was in the calc programming scene.

However, I think it's not a good idea, because it might make matters for people using the TI-Nspire much worse.
I know that you (and compu probably) are angry at TI, but doing this is in my opinion not a good step.
The sole reason why they block Ndless is to prevent these things. While we did not even do it before, this might make them lock the device down even more.
And then we can start looking at a Lua only future for the TI-Nspire.
The funny thing is that they always tried to block Ndless, even when no such tools were available. So it is indifferent if we release these tools or not.

Well you konw what ? I am glad I received my Prizm yesterday.
So, this is the end of Nspire programming?

TI-Nspire / PTTKiller - Enable access to documents in PTT mode
« on: June 07, 2012, 01:44:59 am »
This tool gives you access to selected Nspire documents while in Press-To-Test mode.

Installation

- Place pttkiller.tns in ndless/startup
- Create a folder called "ptt"
- Drop documents you want to use in it

On every boot you will be asked if you want to enable access to documents.
If you are not in PTT mode, just press "No" or hold ESC while booting to skip the popup.

Sadly, Ndless programs won't work in PTT mode.

Edit: Files removed by administrative decision.

TI-Nspire / Re: OSLauncher 3.1
« on: May 13, 2012, 09:17:57 am »
Here is an updated version that supports file extensions. It will still use /documents/ndless/phoenix.raw.zip.tns if it is launched directly.
And it has a theoretical CX support, but launching official OSes still fails.

SilverOne on TI-Planet has discovered that launching any OSes < 3.1.0 will work when OSLauncher is in the ndless/startup folder, so launching CAS OSes on non-CAS devices should be reliable now (link, but the menus will be messed up). Sadly, this method doesn't work on CX calcs (tested in emulator).
