Cross-posted from TI-Planet. http://tiplanet.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=8569There are two kinds of Lua functions: - the ones documented by TI: they should still work in the next OS - the other ones: we discovered them by ourselves, but they could be modified or removed in the next OS Some Lua programs might not work anymore is the next OS if you don't stick to the official Lua API.. For exemple, setAlpha() which is used in many games is missing in the next OS development versions we are testing. (information revealed with TI's agreement)In order to help you, Inspired-Lua.org is now specifying for each function if it is documented by TI or not. http://inspired-lua.org

Dumping your TI-Nspire is needed for some specific tasks. It might become more and more needed soon But the dumping in itself is a very hard task... First, according to the element you wanted to dump (Boot1, Boot2, Diagnostic, or OS), you had to get a different program. Second, those programs (when they do exist), haven't been updated for months/years... They often need a very old OS/Ndless pair you won't be able to install. With the help of Bsl, Goplat and Extended, I've just released PolyDumper. Don't worry about the element you want to dump anymore: PolyDumper dumps everything: Boot1, Boot2, Diagnostics and OS! Moreover, PolyDumper has been compiled for 6 Ndless versions, covering more than 15 OSes! You can dump your 1.1 prototype Boot2 as easily as your 3.0 CX Boot1, if you manage to get Ndless 3.1 of course Hope it will be usefull to you! http://tiplanet.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=118653#p118653

Thanks to color, the first real 3D game has finally appeared on the TI-Nspire CX. What? 3D games allready existed? No... I'm talking of real 3D, like this: Want to know more and download the Lua game? Come to TI-Planet! http://tiplanet.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8521TI-Nspire CX - now better than the Nintendo 3DS ?

I have discovered this morning that the TI-84 Plus SE ROM was still included on basic TI-Nspire CX OSes 3.0.1 & 3.0.2, although you have no way to start the emulator to my knowlege up to now... But the ROM was then removed on the basic TI-Nspire CX OS 3.1.0. Read more and look at the proofs here: http://tiplanet.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8496

We've begun alpha-testing Ndless 3.1 for the ClickPad & TouchPad 3.1.0 OS (not yet compatible with CX, sorry). All Ndless 2.0 programs tested up to now ran directly without any problem. For those who might have missed them on TCAP this evening, first feedbacks and photos here: http://tiplanet.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=118236#p118236

We did it! Today is a great day we shall remember of with the rage comic below: What's all this about? Do you remember the ClickPad Nspire prototypes whose Boot1 & Boot2 were using developer RSA keys instead of production ones? The protypes on which you couldn't install productions OSes from TI website? The prototypes where you could only intall some prehistoric 1.1 & 1.2 developer OSes available only on TI-Planet? So, check this: It's a P3-DVT2.0 basic Nspire prototype originally running OS 1.1.9227. And here it's running OS 3.0.1.1753 without any problem. In theory, every TI-Nspire ClickPad prototype can be modded into a production Nspire and accept production OS. You still have some Nspire prototypes in your desk? Consider that you'll have a new Npire in some weeks when the tutorial and the required tools will be released. You've dreamed of it? Levak made it. The 1st real homemade Nspire dock connector with all 26 wires. Just imagine everything you could do with that: - power external peripherals - connect a 2nd USB port - power your Nspire externally - connect a SD card reader - connect a WiFi module - ... After Ndless 1.1 prototype and Ndless 1.2 prototype, Bsl and me are releasing another Ndless version based on Ndless 1.1.1: Ndless 1.2. You can now run assembly programs on production Nspire with OS 1.2 too. It might be of some little use to you, as some Ndless 1.1 programs have never been recompiled for Ndless 1.7/2.0 and as OS 1.1 is nowhere to be found on the Internet. Upgrading to Ndless 1.2 might get rid of the famous power bug too. http://tiplanet.org/index.php?mod=archives&ac=voir&id=3772

The 3.0.2 OS released on TI web site in may 2011 was the 3.0.2.1791 and included the same 3.0.1.131 Boot2 as the previous 3.0.1 OS. But if you've bought a TI-Nspire CX CAS, it may come preloaded with a different 3.0.2 OS: 3.0.2.1793 from june 2011. This one does include a new Boot2: 3.0.2.141. Unlike the previous 3.0.2.1791 OS, this one has never been made available on TI website. I've checked by modifying the version in the older 3.0.2 links and couldn't find it, although the older 3.0.2 OS is still online. Photos and captures on TI-Planet: http://tiplanet.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=8406To my knowledge there is currently no way of dumping this OS, as every of the 4 different methods I've used previously are unusable with OSes 3.0.2 and above. Any idea/help would be appreciated. Here is the full bootlog for you:

We did it again!!! After his diagnostic flasher in the previous news, Bsl sent me a Boot2 flasher today. I had prepared my RS232 interface in case of bricking problems, but Bsl is so great that it worked on the 1st try on both ClickPad and TouchPad models! No need for an RS232 inteface anymore! You can freely upgrade/downgrade your Boot2. Beyond upgrading/downgrading the Boot2, try to think about everything that could be achieved with this new Ndless program... Another great day you shouldn't forget in the Nspire history! For more informations and photos: http://tiplanet.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=8363

Let's switch parts for today. This time I give you the image, and you guess the news which has not been published on TI-Planet yet! http://tiplanet.org/forum/gallery/image_page.php?album_id=13&image_id=267Let me tell you that this is going to be one of the most important news in the TI-Nspire history. Feel free to ask any question.

Let me report you 2 new things on TI-Planet, which might be of some interest to you. 1st, I've compiled the most comprehensive list of all hardware Nspire versions in the world: OS, Boot1, Boot2 and Diags, with many details on each OS version (Boot2 included, 84+SE system included, minimal OS for downgrade protection...)Even prototype, development, CM, CAS+, Navigator, ViewScreen and LabStation versions are included!http://tiplanet.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=83582nd, we have opened a new image gallery with schematic skins of TI calculators, which could be very usefull to you for emulators or websites, as they can easily be integrated with every background. Get even exclusive schematics skins of the new CX/CX-C/CM-C Nspire!http://tiplanet.org/forum/gallery/album.php?album_id=14The images are protected by a watermark for guests/robots, but it will go away if you are registered and identified on TI-Planet.

We did it!!! Bsl as a developer, and me as a tester who doesn't fear bricking one or two Nspire, have finally, after severall months of work, managed to reflash the Diagnostics software included in the Nspire through an Ndless program today. No need for an RS232 inteface anymore! You can freely upgrade/downgrade your Diagnostics software, install a CAS Diagnostics on a non-CAS model, install a TouchPad Diagnostics on a ClickPad model... Tested on 5 calculators, with 3 different models among them: 100% success rate. What? Useless you say? You never use the Diagnostics software? But remember that the Diagnostics software is in NAND ROM, just after the Boot2... The Diagnostics was just a way to test NAND ROM reflashing with the minimal risk of bricking the Nspire. Imagine that you could soon be able to upgrade/downgrade your Boot2 just by pressing "Enter". Imagine that you could mod your Nspire ClickPad prototypes into production models by replacing their development 1.1 Boot2 which won't let you install any 1.3 or above OS, by a production Boot2. Of course, the development Boot1 would have to be replaced by the production Boot1 too, or the production Boot2 won't be run. But we're getting nearer and nearer... Another great day you shouldn't forget in the Nspire history! For more informations and photos: http://tiplanet.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8348
