A new kind of homemade Dock connector, this time by Levak:

With the TI-Nspire CM-C, the rechargeable battery capacity is even lower...

* white optional rechargeable battery for TI-Nspire TouchPad: 1230mAh (4.55Wh)

* black rechargeable battery coming with the TI-Nspire CX: 1060mAh (3.92Wh)

Discover the TI-Nspire CM battery capacity in the TI-Bank news...

News / Re: TI-84+ prototype photo
« on: August 14, 2011, 05:44:45 am »
So this is a photo from before the 84 was officially released, or is this a new one?

It's a photo from a prototype manufactured before the 84 was released.

Other Calculators / Official RS232 adaptator photo and much more!

Adriweb managed to take a photo of the official RS232 adaptator at TI-Dallas.
http://ti.bank.free.fr/index.php?mod=news&ac=commentaires&id=1281

Unlike us, it doesn't use the external J01/Dock connector, but the internal 30-pins J04 connector.
Which means it should be able to do many other things...

It seems we've really missed something big with that J04 connector.
Have fun figuring out what! ;)

News / TI-84+ prototype photo

Adriweb managed to take a shot of a TI-84+ prototype at TI-Dallas. It's the 1st TI-84+ prototype photo ever published on the Internet!

It even has an unreported Boot Code version up to now.

The pictures are resized (but still clickable for a higher resolution) in the TI-Bank news:

Draw and erase tools !

Did you update the 1st post tns attachment?
Unless I have a cache problem, it is byte to byte identic with the one I downloaded 2 days ago...

It brought me to a page full of ads, didn't see anything interesting, even when translated.
I'll check again :)

Edit: Indeed, the link just has little problem. So no bot after all :)
Thanks cztian for the link!

The link is malformed/broken. Check here:

As Jim noticed, cztian is probably a bot.

Why? His link is quite interesting, with more information on the CX-C and CM... once you manage to translate.

The decoded CX Boot2 is correct.
It's just that the EOF code has been removed from that new CX Boot2.

But it then has to be decrypted, which means you need the CX Boot1.

I thought we had to decrypt the boot2 anyways for the emulator. Or is this a new kind of encryption?
Also, kinda off topic, but if the calc has 16 bit color, that means updating the screen from a screen buffer will take 4x as long.

Non-CX Boot2 were encoded and had to be decoded, not decrypted.

The CX Boot2 is encoded AND encrypted. This is much worse. It has to be decoded and decrypted (which requires some key).
It is probably decrypted by the CX Boot1 we'll never be able to link legally online (unlike the Boot2 which just needs to be extracted from any OS installation file).

So we need a real TI-Nspire CX emulator...
Yep. I had the student software, but my license expired and I didn't feel like buying it. I wonder if it would be easy to add color support in the emu?

It's more complicated than that, as the current Nspire emulator just doesn't run the CX 3.0 Boot2, which is encrypted unlike non-CX Boot2 versions.

I think you could add variable-height walls quite easily. ;)

The TI-Nspire dock connector has saved/helped us many times... That's why TI has removed/changed it on the TI-Nspire CM-C...

According to the first TI-Nspire CM-C Docking Station image in the TI-Bank news, TI seems to have removed that connector, or made it totally unusable for us.

Note that the docking station is named "TI-Nspire CM Docking Station" and not CM-C.
So a TI-Nspire CM might be released internationally, and bring new problems for us.

All this is my guess. What's your guess?
