News / Re: Bypassing TI-Nspire RSA signatures now possible?
« on: March 29, 2011, 04:01:01 pm »
Goplat, I think the "idea" is to launch a basic OS from an Ndlessed CAS OS.
Assuming we could launch the basic 1.7 OS over an Ndlessed CAS 1.7 OS, would we still have some strings problems? (the OS versions are the same... they should be very similar...)

And how do you run 2.1 on 2.0.1?  O.O

But using the Home+Enter+X combo and sending the 2.1 OS as a test image in RS232.

In the worst case, you'll just have to reinstall an OS.

In fact, from my point of view we would need a similar boot2launcher program.
You could then launch a modified boot2 image, in order to launch an OS without checking the RSA signature.

It's probably what the (never released) RunOS was using.

We're not solving: we're bypassing :P

To be more precise, DiagsLauncher just runs any diagnostic image. It's completly independant from the diagnostic present in the NAND ROM, which is neither used nor altered.

You'll need at least a diagnostic image in order to use it.

You can find a dumper in another topic, but for Ndless 1.0/1.1.

You can find the most complete list of diagnostic images here:

Feel free to report any unlisted diags version.

Goplat, the TouchPad arrows aren't very reactive sometimes...

Could you also test for numeric key presses, letting the user choose the best keys?

It seems pretty responsive on my calc. Make sure you never have two fingers in contact with the pad at the same time: it usually moves in the direction where the first finger that touched the pad is, regardless of which finger is pressing down.

Right now the number keys are already used to control the framerate...

Personnally, I don't have this problem.
It's just a problem which has been reported to me.

I'm forwarding your "TouchPad mini howto".

Thank you for clarifying all this.

I'm not questionning your reliability.

I'm just "interested" ;)

About the "for glitch" fix, there is no way i can find the appropriate file in brandon's "calcstuff" directory.
Dunno if it was removed but otherwise, i'm interested if anyone knows the exact file name...

The file name is "84P_OS2.41_BASICFixed.8xu".
It's an allready fully patched OS.

But it's not in the "calcstuff" directory.

Hey there...

Nice forums =]
Also, thx a lot critor for having released such a useful pack for the community.

My post is mainly about the strange "counter" calcdude84se is referring to on page 2.
If i include both the infos from his post and from my personnal tests, we can say that :
- It is automatically displayed on the homescreen during every usb transfer (like calcdude, no other cable type to test further).
- It is not automatically erased when transfer is complete but [CLEAR] does the job well (no residual effects).
- It is (at least) present after having transfered patched os 2.30 & 2.43.
- The displayed value seems to be incremented each time a predefined data quantity is transfered.

I'm kinda curious about it.
Any idea ?

P.S. : Does anyone has a link to get the original "for glitch" patch ?

Quite strange.
I'll have to check which fix does trigger that.

Checking if it does happen with other OSes can help me.

So according to you it's present in OSes 2.30 & 2.43.
It's probably also present in OSes 2.40 & 2.41.

I'd like to know if it's present in the older 2.22 and newer 2.53MP OSes.

Apart from my pack, the for glitch fix is only available for OS 2.41 on Brandon's web site.

By the way, when I connect a more recent CAS+, I get a much smaller DHCP log:

Code: [Select]
pn-srv6-1217: sent reply 2, len=281, to 172.16.80.65:68
pn-srv6-1217: sent reply 5, len=281, to 172.16.80.65:68

Anyway, there seems to be no "policy.dat" file on the oldest 1.0.3xx OS.

Code: [Select]
C:\phoenix\>type policy.dat

Error = -1
