Me too... :-(

Here's the most legal 1.4.11643 CAS OS link I know of:

http://web.archive.org/web/20080727191810/education.ti.com/downloads/files/ti-nspire/TI-Nspire.tnc

No other Nspire OS file seems to have been archived by that site.

Yeah that would be cool. However, didn't the 9860SD only come out in Australia? I remember one model came out there only and if I remember it was the SD one. But yeah it would be funny if people used stuff like Firefox Portable on that.

The fx-9860G AU which only came out in Australia has a fx-9860G hardware (no SD card) but an OS which only uses 800Kb of storage memory instead of 1.5Mb.

The fx-9860G AU+ is the same thing with a fx-9860Gii hardware (no SD card).

Thank you thepenguin77 for being so fast.

Seems to work well with OS 2.43.

But with OS 2.53MP, the program doesn't seem to run: the menu is not shown and the program returns immediately.
A problem with the added protection ?

Fast answer!

Thank you very much ^^

I might have missed something, but I can't use the "bad address" patches posted some pages ago on OSes 2.43/2.53MP.

http://ourl.ca/3687/120342

Note I've had no problem with NODEL243/NODEL253/VERSN243/VERSN253 patches.

I'm using the original unpatched OSes, and a blank TI-84+.

When I press '1', the calculator just seems to freeze.
Of course NODEL243/NODEL253/VERSN243/VERSN253 were taking some secs...
But this time, nothing happens after severall minutes.
Pressing '2' or '3' doesn't seem to trigger anything.

I have to remove a battery, and use the DEL key to access the boot code screen, as the OS doesn't want to boot again.

I've tested:

* addr243 on OS 2.43 (calculator frozen for several minutes...)

* addr253 on OS 2.53 (calculator turned off after several minutes and couldn't be turned back on)

* addr243 on OS 2.53 (calculator turned off after several minutes, could be turned back on showing the same menu without additional information, but the calculator still seems frozen: the '3' key to exit didn't work...)

* addr253 on OS 2.43 (calculator frozen for several minutes... removed battery)

Seems nobody had any problem with that, so I don't understand why I can't make those patches work...

Thanks.

Casio Calculators / Re: Your Prizm OS versions

Early versions of the fx-9860G(SD) emulator have been distributed freely by Casio, and didn't include add-in support.

As you have to pay for the newer versions, I think you'll understand ;)

Yes, the so-called "Manager" software does support add-ins.

Would it be possible to edit the 1st post, adding links to the patches that have been released by ThePenguin77 and BrandonW, fixing some of the OS bugs ?

Sorry if there is allready such a post in another topic: would mean I have missed it.

News / Re: OS 2.55MP released
« on: January 18, 2011, 03:42:04 pm »
Sorry if that has allready been reported, but 2.55MP is having problems with Xlib, exactly like 2.53MP.

It might be harder to fix, as the ROM page is completly full...
In 2.53MP, Brandon did call some code he inserted at the end of the page.

Ah ok, thanks for the clarification. Strange that french models requires such additional step, though. ???

Something with a different BIOS / Boot Code if I remember well.
Current pfxRecover version doesn't make the calculator enter in OS update mode.
You need to force that manually.

According to cfxm, it should be fixed in the next pfxRecover version.

Nice stuff cfxm. Does this means there are actually two ways to perform this?

It's the same way. We're using the same tools.
There is just an additional step on the french Casio models with the current pfxRecover version.

News / Re: "Noverclock" your TI-Nspire!
« on: January 16, 2011, 04:02:41 pm »
Does this means that the OS can actually be clocked down to even slower speeds? That might be good for some programs that doesn't require much processing power.

Yes, you can downclock with Nover too, as I let you fully control all parameters values.

But don't downclock too much...
On all OSes (even 2.1), you get garbage over the display if some frequencies are too low.
I haven't tested very much (as I'm not interested in that), but it seems the Nspire screen doesn't like CPU frequencies of around 120MHz and lower.

Thank you for this news (again).

I can provide the ODT file if someone wants to translate it / adapt it.
I'm not asking for anything else than my name and a link.

As the models names are completly different in France (don't know why), people often don't know about the wonderfull things that can be done with their calculator.

Because they simply cannot find any english information on their calculators with google.

And that's why most french Casio web sites aren't interesting: lack of accurate information.
