AWESOME FIND! Hahah, we can all be teachers now.
TI's quite stupid for hosting secret stuff under findable links HAH
Heheh, I can't wait until the teachers see me using the software that they paid monies for
It seems that they're not paying for the software, but for the hardware.

Do you mean like running a TI-83 on a TI-83+?
Yes. Although the OS would probably need some patches... But with that tool, you can generate an update file from a basic TI-83 ROM, and then sign it for a TI-73/83+/84+. Have fun exploring all those new possibilites! ^^

Didn't you grab 1.50 from TI-Flash Debugger ROM then use that tool to convert it to an OS file? You had me testing it on my TI-73 a while ago. I think my calc still have it installed.
Exactly. By the way, my tool is command-line only. It "could" be usefull for other things, like generating an OS update file from a basic TI-83 ROM. (think to all the tricks you could play to your friends... :p )Source code is included.

I recently acquired a very ancient TI-84+SE calculator with OS 2.21 still installed. Is there any way I can get the OS from calculator to computer? Thx.
Some months ago, I got a TI-73 ROM file with OS 1.50. I wanted to generate a 73u update file from it, and that's why I've developped the following tool: http://ti.bank.free.fr/index.php?mod=archives&ac=voir&id=1641I haven't used it for months, but if I remember well: - you give it a z80 ROM file (TI-73, TI-83+, TI-83+SE, TI-84+, TI-84+SE, or TI-84+Nspire) - you then get an unsigned OS update file (73u or 8xu) You then need to correctly sign the OS update file using rabbitsign or something like that with the correct key (not included)

oh so that's not for me: I've got a TI-83+.FR (it's a blue one, so I think the 83+SE because my girlfriend has an ungly old one )
Wow, never even heard of that one
Most of the patches are to fix bugs, such as the ones in this thread.
The TI-83+.fr is nothing interesting. It's just a basic TI-83+, with a blue case and a keyboard with french labels. 2.53MP OS doesn't work on basic TI-83+ because they only have 32Kb RAM, and the OS needs at least 48Kb RAM. So, 2.53MP can only work on TI-84+/84+SE and on TI-83+SE with the patch. You can install the patched OS on your basic TI-83+. It will boot correctly, but the calculator is going to crash if you ask it for "1+1", because of the missing RAM page... The patch was mentionned and linked in that french news: http://ti.bank.free.fr/index.php?mod=news&ac=commentaires&id=810

I've got a bundle of the Connect-to-Class 1.3 installer and the TI-Network Manager 3.2 installer too. The TI-Network-Manager is to administrate the wireless proprietary networks of TI-Nspire (TI-Nspire Navigator networks) or TI-73/83+/84+ (TI-Navigator networks). Have fun! http://ti.bank.free.fr/index.php?mod=archives&ac=voir&id=1993Would be great if we could make our TI-Nspire calculators connect to a standard WiFi hub, and not to that proprietary and very expensive USB thing...

Interesting. It lets you control an Nspire from a computer?
We can't get the non-Nspire TI-Navigator software for free like this, can we?
I figured out the link while updating my original 1.3 Connect-to-Class software (netstat during the download to get the host IP + task manager during the update to get the file name). I don't have a non-Nspire TI-Navigator software to update, so I can't get the link you want this way...

Darn I wish I had two TI-Nspire to test. Nice find Critor!
If you just want screenshots, it works with one TI-Nspire...

If you've got at least 2 TI-Nspire, it might be interesting to try the Connect-to-Class software. It's the teacher software which lets you operate severall TI-Nspire simultaneously, wether they are on a wired network (USB) or a WiFi network (TI-Nspire Navigator). TI secretly hosts it on ti.com. Here is it, version 1.4.0.539: http://ti.bank.free.fr/index.php?mod=archives&ac=voir&id=1992(linked from ti.com)And it was quite hard to find that link... So, enjoy it while you can!

Such as TiLP and TI-Connect failing epically hard most of the time because of misconfigured computers. None worked on the 32 college multimedia computers that had serial and USB ports. That's why the Casio Prizm is better! :p

This is awesome! I'm also very glad there's add-in support and I like how the calc is seen as a USB jumpdrive. I hope it will be possible to write our own add-ins. Are there any talks about a SDK? Casio has promised a SDK.

Yeah, but you can't install Ndless on a TouchPad, so I can't do that.
Incorrect. You can install Ndless on both basic and CAS TouchPad.

ExtendeD -> I'm not good at electronics.
Can you tell me what is the purpose of the electronic circuit described on Yaronet/Hackspire ?
Why isn't a simple db9 plug enough ?

Be careful if you want to try to flash boot2. This will erase the original boot code. If the boot image is incompatible with CAS+ or rejected because the signing keys have changed, the caculator will become unusable.
That's why I've got 2 Nspire CAS+. I know what I'm risking. The 1.1/1.4 boot2 may be incompatible with the TI-Nspire CAS+. And even if they are compatible, the 1.0 boot1 may refuse to load it because of a different signature. If I manage to build the appropriate cable/interface, I'll begin by testing it with a basic/CAS TI-Nspire. Logging, then diagnostic/boot2 reflashing as we've got valid images of them. And if everything seems to work, the next steps will be in order: - logging the CAS+ boot messages and publishing them - flashing a 1.1 diagnostic software and testing it - flashing the 1.1 boot2 and testing - flashing the 1.1 OS and testing ExtendeD -> don't you have a working unused cable you could lend me? There's something I'm very bad at: it's soldering!
