What is great with FormulaPro, is that you can add your own formula pack. ;)

ThemeEditor has just been updated again.
http://tiplanet.org/forum/archives_voir.php?id=6070

You can now press 'i' to invert the current edited item color, or to invert all items colors if you're on the items list.

Moreover, Adriweb and Levak have just released together the 1st complete theme replacement for your TI-Nspire CX: DarkSide.

May the dark side increase your battery life ;)

General Calculator Help / Re: Nspire CX CAS got sick after Ndless 3
« on: July 13, 2012, 12:37:04 pm »
hello, i have another problem with my ti cx
my ti will restart and in the middle of the reboot it shows "system error" and a low battery sign
and after that my ti closes (it just stops at the middle of the reboot bar and closes) (so it not a reboot loop)
i cant get to the diagnostics menu and the maintenance menu says "replace batteries and try again Press any key to turn off"
Please help me!

The TI-Nspire CX battery is only charged while the OS is running, or with the charging test option from the diagnostic software.

With a low battery (charge below 30%) you cannot access the maintenance menu, even connected to an external usb power source.

For your problem, the only way out is to charge the battery.

I understand that your OS doesn't boot and gives you a system error, which allready happened to me.

But why aren't you able to access the diagnostic software?...

If you've damaged your diagnostic software, then the only ways out are:

- to remove the battery from your CX and charge it by plugging it into a compatible device or by directly connecting electric wires

- to have someone with a CX lend you his/her charged battery while you access the maintenance menu to remove the OS and if it's not enough reformat your NAND ROM

The first complete version of ThemeEditor has just been released! ;D
(1st post updated)
Source: http://tiplanet.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=126773#p126773

It now supports theme files (*.theme.tns). :D
ThemeEditor will let you create/edit those files, and of course you'll be able to share them :)

The last theme file used with ThemeEditor becomes your current Nspire theme once you exit the editor.

The last theme file used with ThemeEditor can also be loaded automatically after a reboot if you put the ThemeEditor.tns file in the /ndless/startup folder. ;D

Enjoy and please share your great theme files with us! ;)

Yes exactly. I thought I was going to find NetGear PCB/chips inside the Navigator Access Point... not a complete NetGear router :P

This seems too good to be true...
*TheNlightenedOne goes on EBay to look for a Netgear ProSafe WAG102

Do not forget the proprietary interfacing card... ;)

Oh, I was just imagining how teachers/proctors who are paranoid about cheating would react to finding out there's basically a router inside the Navigator.

I think that the interfacing card has an important role which might be related to security and explain why non-Nspire clients can neither see or connect to this private WiFi network.

We might find out by digging into the TI-Navigator Access Point Firmware (based on Linux and uBoot):

Note that I don't know if that firmware is flashed into the interface card ROM, into the NetGear router (custom firmware) or into both.

The TI-Navigator Access Point is the proprietary WiFi router used to build a wireless network of TI-Nspire handhelds in class. It connects to the host teacher computer through USB.

In a previous news, we were discovering the included motherboard together:

And I was telling you that there was something else in the TI-Navigator Access Point...

Just think it again:
  • it's written "power by NetGear" on the case, but the 'NetGear' word doesn't show up on the motherboard... ::)
  • there is a WiFi antenna on the case, but not on the motherboard... :o
  • the motherboard has an ethernet connector, but there is no external ethernet connector on the case...  ???
  • an ethernet cable is plugged... :banghead:

The propriety TI-Navigator Access Pointer router is just built around... a perfectly standard NetGear ProSafe WAG102 router! ;D

And what if you could now build your own TI-Nspire wireless network for cheap ? ;)

News / A theme editor coming for Ndless 3.1
« on: July 05, 2012, 11:32:11 am »
On 3.x development OSes, TI had started to develop a theme editor.

But for some reason, that functionnality was totally removed from the released OSes.
All what is left is a hidden "theme.csv" file at the documents root with some RGB colors specifications, but which seems totally ignored by the OS as I've allready managed to modify it without getting anything special on the screen.

Fortunately, Levak has worked very hard on a theme editor/loader for Ndless 3.1.
Use your favorite colors or greys on your TI-Nspire!  ;D
