@Vogtinator: that would be amazing!!!
would that allow internet of some sort? And we could play >1 playyer games!!! is this being planed???
ps. what els could we do?

I like the trend of this topic. Keep asking questions, there are a lot of people who are afraid tocome ask what you've been asking!

Short story: Internet is hard to do with this device, but it's possible, has been done, and with work could be a beautiful project.
Long story:
Internet on the nspire (via a wifi module) is, besides being slightly impractical because there are already less powerful systems that are capable of supporting and are intended to support internet, something that wouldn't actually be ridiculous or super difficult to implement! That sort of thing has already been done via Linux (which I still haven't actually tried hard enough t get working on my calc) but the only problem is how limited the internet is nowadays without the suppoprt of programs that support the standard of graphics and interactivity expected for use of the internet. So, it'd allow you to have limited access, but you could certainly not play online browser games of any sort of substantial caliber.

Maybe it'd be wiser to find a forum or outsource appropriate to that discussion. Take it into off topic here, or find somewhere for prospective writers. They might be much, much more receptive :) It's not that we're uninterested, it's that there are definitely more interested people elsewhere :)

You should write on forums as though you were writing a novel :D
I'm interested in hearing about it, so out with it, dragon! :3

^tantrum. I know I've been a huge meganoob in the past, but at least I changed. DreamDragon, the upvotes or downvotes or reputation counts aren't really significant here. It's mostly just a nice favor. Any upvoting usually doesn't mean much, but a downvot emeans you've seriously stepped over your bounds. Js.
I can't believe it took me this long that there is going to be an Xlib for the 84C :D

I didn't mean to come accross as aggressive. I just feel like I'm looking back at myself and this is what I would want somebody to tell me in the event that I act that way. Sorry :3
By the way, you're right, it was another poject that got lost.

TheCoder1998, this and similar questions have been answered in depth, thoroughly, in different ways by different people, all throughout the forum, from the time it began and it will until quantum computers are invented (in which case, we can pretty much do whatever we want.)

I'm going to try to be brief and understandable.
There are 2 reasons in this community things don't get done generally, in the software area for projects like this.
1.) Programmer is either incapable of the request or the device is incapable of supporting it.
In this case, the calc does not support a legit savestate feature that can allow for saves to be transferred as individual files between calcs. The closest you get is the unique system with which his application can and does store environment variables and all of the game's memory in appvars/in SMC in the ROM itself. It IS possible to save your state, otherwise my time spent using the application would have been miniscule. I don't knwo exactly how the process worked, but you can load the previous state of the ROM into the game via some process I used to have to do over and over. It also helped when the game crashed or I ran out of batteries.
2.) The programmer has no interest in completeing the task.
Programmer will either lose interest, not care enough about userbase, not place much value on whatever you want to have implemented, feels insulted (as in, feels like the userbase is just USING him instead of appreciating his incredible feats in coding and hacking), have no time to do this, no energy, or has encountered circumstances which difficult this process tremendously.

The original author doesn't even have the source anymore, I don't think, and even if he did, he  isn't actively working on it right now. He has a habit of abandodning finished products, which TI-BOY is. It's finished. That isn't to say he might nto try to work on it again in the future. :)

Both of the reasons listed apply to this case. You don't need to read the bulk  of this, just the reasons I gave.

IIRC (too lazy to go double check) the OS on all mobile Nintendo gaming devices can be modified, but you have to have a cart/compatible media storage/somehow interfaced alternative storage device (i.e. a flashcart and a MicroSD :3 ) volume with code that will modify it, and a way to run this code.
Seems risky to me, as the OS could not be modified any other way and if you screw it up or modify it so that it cannot be changed again, you've essentially bricked a device.

In that case, I see a good googling would've gone a long way for me :P
DS Lite is definitely moddable, though: I've used programs that will do that for me, and will also skip the DS OS and go straight to the flashcart.
No I don't think so. IIRC The GB family has a ROM chip, The DS doesn't seem to be moddable, only the DSI and the 3DS have updates.

I'd like to point out how much leeway the forumers have been giving you, dreamdragon. :)

A major problem (besides those listed already) is that many games already pushed the limits of the calc itself and were well written for THAT hardware. This calc is very different and also takes MUCH longer to do screen-related things, which is most of what makes these games: fancy graphics.

Also, many old coders who wrote stuff like Phoenix a decade ago don't stick around anymore to help put stuff on the CSE.
