Can your calc take pictures, make phone calls, send text messages, surf the internet (maybe?), have speakers for sound/music and a touch screen, etc.? Also, some smart phones might even be cheaper than an NSpire.

I agree, the design does look nice, but i don't know how i feel about the control pad.

I'm that one dude who sucks all he can out of a device and I know for a fact that, due to the Linux port, it can do most of that with the right hardware.
The companies aren't focusing on putting that in, though.

Yes. If anything, future contestants were allowed to just point out the mistakes of only one dude towards the start and we could've, in theory, played indefinitely.
Most people seemed to understand the concept of the game, but because of everybody failing haiku's, I suggest we start over with an easier one.
