I suggest using jacobly's emu for programming using your Nspire. Because Nspire basic is pretty much nonsense. TI-Nspire BASIC is actually extremely well-adapted for math purposes (which the poster is asking about), because that's exactly what it was designed for.
The only reason many people don't like it is because it's nearly impossible to make a decent game with it. Because that's like trying to make a graphical game with Mathematica or doing your calculus homework on a game console. That's the same reason you wouldn't make a calculation-heavy math program with Lua.
Sorry that this is off-topic, but I feel too many people just assume that certain features of the TI-Nspire are intrinsically awful without thinking about what they're meant to do.
Sorry. I have looked at the language, but I don't have my Nspire juuuust yet....

If I knew french, I would! Mine is fast, it does the number 69 in about three seconds, and I have one that does lists of sizes up to 998, and strings up to the amount of RAM you have.

looking at eBay, they go for a lot more than that and often the bidders go crazy about buy for about $150.

I'll lower it to 100$ + shipping and handling. I'm updating the device information

Mine is just going to be a compilation of Omni things that are unique to us, like a scrapbook. But I can't get bbcode working in it >.<

MGOS, that would end up being quite slow to do anything of value hehe

Wow I feel pretty ninja'd right now *wipes tear* spare me oh ninja clan
I wrote three different programs to do it with three different data types.

I've written and rewritten a palindrome finder in TI BASIC. I found one online, but it isn't very good. I don't know how to manipulate lists well enough that I can input a number larger than 14 digits and it be checked properly... Plus it is very slow. Writing one in ASM seems impossible to me. Axe doesn't support big integers.. So I'm asking everybody to rewrite the only palindrome finder online at Ticalc to make the best one they can find, or write their own. This is more of a challenge than anything Altho it would be really helpful, as I am trying to learn about math using programming

So basically, a CAS is only better for having more storage space/memory in this case. Just to clarify. Because the CAS models don't have the ROM on it.

I would pay for this if people could use a color screen on a monochrome calculator. Somebody should program an Axe AXIOM for it

willrandship, for every OS you get, save it on the computer, as there aren't many obscure/short lived OS's online. I suggest 2.55 or 2.43. I'm using 2.55 now. Msd8x works fine on newer 84+SE? Or maybe just the 84+? Doors and Zstart don't mix? THAT is why my calculator screws up! Altho the random Defrag glitch seems to be a permanent problem now! OHNOEZ

Do you mean like storing y1=x^2-1 from a program? Yes, you can use strings. so "x^2-1"->str1:dispgraph would show the graph. If you do not want to show the graph, you can just do solve(y1,x,1). solve( is under [math] and has the syntax solve(equation, variable, guess).
This is a better answer to your question. I need to anticipate the experience levels of newbs..

DrDnar, I'd REALLY love that. I'm still learning ASM, and I don't know anything about USB... So I can't honestly help with that. However, I would appreciate much nicer text file reading on calculator via USB and full app transfer TIOS 2.55 BASIC programs that use the vertical text trick don't work right?

joao, do you mean using Basic to display a linear cartesian representation of an equation? In that case, yes it is possible but it would be slow, and impractical.
