i agree, i think many people dont actually have a grasp at thier level of programming. if you start editing games instead of making useless stuff then you'll grasp your level quicker.

Its a similar problem at school. im sorta the best with a calculator in the small school, so kids always want to give me thier programs, i have trouble telling them i dont want it. i resolved it by filling my calc up to the brim with an unarchived TVF and then saying i dont have room ;] but i doubt ticalc could use the same tactic.

"sorry, we are......out of space, ya. Nope no room at al for your 600byte program, nope full to the brim with an unarchived version of TVF. ya sorry, we have a 24000 byte holding capactity"

im pretty sure lists is about the only thing that makes sence, matrices are big and unwieldy, strings get overwritten, and you can create your own lists which can then be archived and stuff. another thing you can do if you want in game fast storage is use real, image, ipart, and fpart, for data, then if you still need more you can do rounding and stuff with ipart. this can all go in like the main chars finance var like, terrain,x,y or something.

Well if you couldnt tell, im having comp problems. i cantt play silkroad on my new (handmedown) comp. the sound wont initialize or somethiing. what happened is it caught a virus so my mom bought a new one and gave me that one, i fixed it by buying a new harddrive and installing that then wiping the other one clean. so none of my driver settings are installed. since it was not my computer, i do not know where the motherboard box is to reinstal them from a disk and i cant find them on the website (cards are integrated into the motherboard) so does anyone have any advice? like a site where i could find drivers (sound/video) or any other course of action? im am in the process of looking for the motherboard box, but i dont count on finding it. any help would be apprecianted, and btw my motherboard is a fic.

cool, this is looking like a really cool project. are you using asm libs? because it seems that there would be no other way to write to a program without those. i dont think its possible in basic

how do you make it so that when click on an empty space with no bombs around it, it hits every empty space that it is adjacent to it, then hits all spaces adjacent to all the spaces that are empty and so on. aka when you hit one spot and multiple spots are uncovered (if you were confused by m description). i tried making a minesweeper in basic but that part of the game never worked with any speed, yours seems to go lightening fast, is there some way you could explain the alg you used? or is it just one of those asm>basic times?

btw the game looks really cool, i like the timer's font especially.
