Metroid: Chozo Mission / Re: Metroid Chozo Mission
« on: November 28, 2010, 09:26:31 am »
Okay thanks ! I've already done list, but changing XandY values isn't too easy because arriving direction must be seen in way to do that :( and it is very long to code !
ps : I succeeded in that way 5 minutes ago and I done half of the work on it ;D

Great, step by step this game is getting better and better. Any predictions on the date of a beta release?

Oh.  That would explain it.  (Although I do like a couple of select mangas)

I'm being put away, 'cos me no get no joke.

Anyways, I've already signed up to join tIDE team and am now working on c#

Well, a disassembler is planned, though.  I just don't think I'll support pulling files from an attached calculator.  I can hook into TI-Connect easily to send files, but not as easily with the other way around.

Is there a dissabembler already? I mean, not in tIDE, but a dissambler, just dissambler, or you'll make the first?

I'll post my screenshot too!

Mine is very well divided, programming in middle, graphic design in the left, multimedia on the right, calculator programming on top :)

My background is a 3D image edited in Photoshop :D

So, Scout, could you correct your code with that knowledge so we can look at it again? :)

I tried, but it doesn't work :(

Code: [Select]
:.PICTEST
:[38107C1010282828→Pic1
:0→A
:Lbl 0
:ClrDraw
:ClrHome
:Pt-Change(0,0,Pic1
:DispGraph
:Lbl 1
:If A>99
:0->A
:ClrDraw
:Pt-Change(A,0,Pic1
:DispGraph
:End
:If -A>>0
:90->A
:ClrDraw
:Pt-Change(A,0,Pic1
:DispGraph
:End
:Repeat getKey→Z
:End
:Repeat getKey(15)
:If Z=3
:ClrDraw
:A+10->A
:Pt-Change(A,0,Pic1
:DispGraph
:Goto 1
:End
:If Z=2
:ClrDraw
:A-10->A
:Pt-Change(A,0,Pic1
:DispGraph
:Goto 1
:End
:End
:Lbl 2

This won't work, I think

Well, you may feel safer with a 55€ AV than with a 0€ AV, but it's, on average, not necessarily true :)

I feel safer because when I bought it and my first scan, it scanned a trojan and a malware that the other one hadn't :)

Computer Programming / Re: SourceForge VS Google Code
« on: November 28, 2010, 09:16:38 am »
Yeah, Google Code is simpler / less powerful than SourceForge. And as SirCmpwn seemed to mention, SF is a better choice than Codeplex (whose TFS is a bad SCM with bad interoperability).

So...

Looking for:      Use:
Simple             Google Code
Easy

Looking for:     Go for:
Complex          SourceForge
Powerful

Other Calculators / Re: A choice to make between a Casio and a TI
« on: November 28, 2010, 09:15:41 am »
IMHO I would go with the 84+ because it's the most widely used calc. With the FX-9850G there are some games being made every now and then but the community is much smaller so you wouldn't get as much support as you would get over here with TI.

Btw if you choose the Casio calc are you still planning to stay around Omnimaga? ???

No >:D I'm just kidding, I'll stay whatever calc I'll have. But yesterday I had a chat with my father, and suprisingly he knows TI-83, TI-85, TI-86, and even TI-71!! :o And when I told him about the 2nd hand TI-84+SE, he said that he would try to do something about it... But weren't colored plastic things to put on the 84+SE given with the calc?? the guy who sell it doesn't talk about them on his announce.....

You don't need them...

My father has a super calculator, very old, but super, it does lots of things! He is a civil engineer, so, he really needs it

Ndless / Re: Ndless 1.7 for TI-Nspire
« on: November 28, 2010, 08:59:48 am »
critor: thanks for the report, please tell me more if you happen to see it again.

I've got the NSpire Touchpad, so i can't try this, but i would and tell you about it extended.

oh, extended, the bugs you are getting, are them in nCubate or in hardware?

I personally get a 100% success rate for the installation on nspire_emu/Ncubate.

Actually I wonder if ExtendeD had any luck with Ndless 2.0 lately?

Sorry, not yet.

Can NCubate emulate Touchpad Keypad, by the way?

Yes, use the /K3 option of nspire_emu/Ncubate.

hy, i just installed ndless, it works fine, thanks!!
but the problem is:
when i am installing, it only works in maybe 1 out of 4 attempts...the other times it just reboots, or i have to reboot manually
my firmware is 1.1.2741

jabem, where do you see this "firmware version"?

Great extendeD.

ok, sorry 4 confusing u. it was just a typo, my firmware is 1.7.2741. and i don't have the touchpad version...  but i had to install ndless a few more times today and it just worked fine. don't know what was wrong yesterday ;)

Well, it was a typo afterall :)

Other Calculators / Re: $1000... for a 83+ (ignore -- made mistake)
« on: November 28, 2010, 08:58:44 am »
That's the same in France:

TI-83+.fr in supermarket A: 78.95€
Ti-83+.fr in supermarket C: 95€ (I bought mine there, because supermarket A was too far)

are the calcs cheaper in US than in France, or is this just an impression??? (translated from French)

Games are cheaper in US, why?

A game that costs 40$ in USA, will cost 40€ in Europe.
A game that costs 12321$ in USA, will cost 12321€ in Europe.

And since the dollar is worth more, they get to win :(

Other / Re: Anyone use Logisim?
« on: November 28, 2010, 08:56:35 am »
Have you ever wanted to build your own computer?  And by build your own, I mean from scratch... literally wiring logic gates and registers together.  Its really fun actually, I just finished a project for school where I had to not only build my own instruction set architecture, but then use that machine language that I created to write an assembly program for conway's game of life and then run it in the simulator.

Its really rewarding.  I remember when I first learned to program BASIC on the calculator and it felt cool I could actually program the thing.  And then I learned assembly and I though it was cooler that I was actually writing the lowest level of machine programming.  But then we had to use Logisim and now its even cooler to actually wire everything together to create your own instruction set!

Logisim

Its relatively easy to use and its in java so it will run on any platform.  I dare someone to try to make a z80 CPU!  Its actually much harder than the architecture I created since mine had a single sized, single clock cycle instruction set for simplicity, similar to ARM.

I don't see any fun on that, but that's just me.

I tend to hate hardware and processors, graphic cards, LCD's are a bunch of words that I don't like to use. I prefer programming and software

Computer Usage and Setup Help / Re: Anti-Virus
« on: November 28, 2010, 08:55:04 am »
If you just use the Internet more safely, you shouldn't need an Anti-Virus software.  I haven't gotten a virus or malware for years.  And the last time I ever got something I removed it manually, which I believe is the only safe way to do it.  The anti-virus industry is really a scam in my opinion.  They're generally worse that the viruses themselves because a lot of them are bundled with malware, they are incredibly difficult to uninstall completely, they can reduce the performance of the computer, its just not the type of thing I would ever want.  Using the system tools and quick google search is enough to figure out how to remove anything.

I have to disagree, though. From free, legal and simple downloads to large, illegal, suspicious downloads, there are virus. I agree that a free, legal anti-virus is enough. In fact, it's the best thing for 90% of internet users. However, a lot of people use my computer, this is, connect USB drives here, also, I make a few illegal downloads too. So, I feel safer with a 55€ anti-virus than nothing.

There is another thing to add, however, for my family, 55€ is not THAT much for an anti-virus, that's why most people use free ones, which I think is fair :)
