Other Calculators / Re: [IDEA/Random thought] 84+ emu on nspire
« on: November 26, 2010, 04:13:21 pm »
Yeah, no point in starting with 84+, which has quite a bit more hardware to emulate.

Priorities reconsidered. Starting on 83+ emulator now.

wait, you already started that as a project?, you are starting now?, or you are stating what should be done first?

I want to help you with this project, I have some ideas. Interested in my help?

wow... thats a lot of categories...  :o
but yeah, these seem like a good idea.  ;)
although maybe not the best program of the year, as the POTY already does that.  also, for the best programmer, how about people nominate others, and the ones nominated get put on a poll?  just as long as such a thing won't cause hard feelings/grudges.  ;)

I agree, an anonymous poll, because what I want is no bad feelings

Yeah, but why 83+ instead of 84+?

Well, instead of trying to improve the 84+ emulation already on the Nspire, I think it would be easier to simply write a new 84+ emulator that can be run with Ndless to use any rom image.

I don't know if it would be impossible to do, but I would think it would be difficult to change TI's built in emulator.

Yeah Yeah! We could make a program for 84+ keypad that changed definitions of the calculator itself, including other keypads. AWESOME idea!

maybe just an asm program with the power of ndless.
well. If you can edit the os, then a patch wouldn't be terrible, but i don't think thats where the answer would lie.

Theorically, I have no idea of how ndless works, it's like a .c file that installs it, right?
I just have no idea how it theorically works and would like to know.

1.  ok, all nspire owners with the 84+key pad know about the affects of upgrading your regular nspire os with the 84+ emulation.

2.  You probabally also know about the inability to transfer a new os to the 84+ emulation w/o upgrading your nspire os.
3.  Ram pages.  We are confined to three...

Ok. I am tring to be clear but i got up early for black friday....

2.  Is there any way to write an assembly program, either for the nspire or the 84+ emulation, that will enable os upgrades independent to the nspire operating system?
3.  Is there anyway to unlock the nspires memory to get extra ram pages for the 84+?

Note: sorry for being unclear.

That would be cool, but very hard, since we can't even upload OSs to the NSpire, I think, so a patch? That would be really hard

You know you've been thoroughly (sp?) computerized when large font causes you to physically flinch and wince.

I was mainly looking for the calcs that (oh geez, DJ, help me! "personnalisé" in english ;D )
I already have the text, I just need some pictures, and maybe a few funny/not useful features (real or not) about the calc...

[EDIT] I had some photos, do someone know a way of contacting Kerm from Cemetech???

PM'ing him... He is in Omnimaga too ;) Also, IRC #cemetech, he may be there ;)

Ndless / Re: Ndless 1.7 for TI-Nspire
« on: November 26, 2010, 03:23:49 pm »
Wow, an almost-stable version of Ndless 1.7! This means Ndless 2.0 is approaching! lol

I've got the NSpire Touchpad, so i can't try this, but i would and tell you about it extended.

oh, extended, the bugs you are getting, are them in nCubate or in hardware?

TI Z80 / Common Ion Table
« on: November 26, 2010, 03:21:40 pm »
I've created an Ion Table for School Chemistry instead of using another one, made by Andre Aparicio.

Anyways, I haven't added negative ions yet, only 2 :P

It was made in TI-Basic, using mainly the Menu( function for the interface and Text( to display ions.
If you can, translate it to your language, since I allow it, in fact, I ask you to do it, and then just change the About (Sobre) to "Programmed by: David G./Translated by:yourname".

@aeTIos I said you could make your own ducht version of it when I finished it. You still can, but I decided to use TI Basic instead of Axe, but the code is very simple, you can still use it.

Original Code:

Miscellaneous / Re: Social Networking
« on: November 26, 2010, 03:18:09 pm »
I don't do any social networking because I personally don't see much of a point to it and too many people I know have become addicted to it (and I'm already addicted to Minecraft, so I don't think I could even have the time for another addiction).

I am a social networker, not an addicted one, just post a quote in Facebook every three days.

A few years ago, I always said "FACEBOOK and Hi5 are stupid, don't use it, it sucks so much, dumb people use it"
I was really mad at social networkers, I yelled at my friends (mainly girl) for it.

Now, I think Facebook is cool, it has a goal, socialitismentization (or however you say noun of social).

Miscellaneous / Re: Social Networking
« on: November 26, 2010, 10:07:21 am »
Yeah it got pretty popular over the past 5 years. At one point it kinda harmed the community, though, because people would spend 10 hours a week updating their Facebook profile. Now people use FB and Twitter to relay community updates so now social networks kinda have an opposite effect.

It would be better, I think, if we had a SMF mod installed that allowed us to share topics on Facebook and Twitter, though. That could attract more visitors. However, such mod would be hard to maintain as FB always change their designs.

Also, some people suggested an Omni fb group before. I was against it because I feared it would dillute the activity due to people posting there instead of Omni, but I think it's possible to make groups read-only or something, so that could maybe work, now.

I'M not part of Twitter, though. I thought about joining, but I don't update my profiles on social network sites often enough to register on multiple ones.

Hum... Is Omnimaga on Facebook?

Just wondering ...

Ndless / Re: Ndless 1.7 for TI-Nspire
« on: November 25, 2010, 02:45:50 pm »
You can do what ever you want, either work like before, or run asm progs.
Ndless will "just" by-pass the verification of a valid document and "add" the possibilitie of documents that begin with "PRG"
ExtendeD will surely explain better than me.

Hum. Without ndless I can run Asm progs?
