On a linux pc, run the following:
mount -t ext2 -o loop initrd.tns /mnt cd /mnt/etc vi inittab cd / umount /mnt I've done it and commented the line. The error does not show up anymore . But now, I have new problems, like linux asking me to login again and again after a few seconds/minutes, and I can only type a few characters like + or enter. Also, why is home mapped as ctrl and not the "ctrl" key?

Well, I'm going to ask you . The only initrd I found which did not ended up in a kernel panic was this one: http://ourl.ca/17131;msg=266194 .

EDIT: Is boot2 hot-launching not reliable? I tried it with boot2 1.4 and it doesn't get past the thatched clock screen.
There seems to be some strange protections in the OS. OSLauncher fails at the same point.

This is a way to get a dual boot. OS 3.1 with ndless on one side, OS 3.2 without ndless on the other.

You have to transfer phoenix.tns firt, remove your OS, and then send nLaunch. For more details, check the readme .

First, make sure you really have the boot2 1.4. Then, if it still doesn't work, try another linking program... (still, it worked for me with TINCL 3.2 (3.1 doesn't exists)).

Like ndless 3.1 fake OS, TI-Nspire Computer Link 3.1 can return an error. Did you check on your calculator?

If you want to flash your boot2: 1)place your boot2 image in ndless/boot2.img.tns 2)run nsNandMgr 3)Option 2 (boot2) 4)Option 2 (flash boot2) .

You will not be able to downgrade to such an OS. The only way using only software is to use nsNandMgr (linked in nLaunch's readme).

So SpiroH, I can understand why you don't release the source code, you can be afraid of code stealers. I'd just like to get back on this point. What could a code stealer make with the source code? There is no money/patents/ect involved here, so... the only thing the would be able to do would be publishing some closed-source software using the source code he got. Isn't that exactly what SpiroH made? PS: It's not because nspire_emu has no licence that it is morally correct to do so.

There is a CX-OS (3.0.something) where TI forgot to remove the emulator. In this case, this was a waste of space.
In other OSes, it should not even exists, and if it exists, it would be emtpy.

You can only use it when you plug a TI-84 keyboard to your Nspire, and if the installed OS includes the emulator.
That means it's only for Clickpad/Touchpad non-CAS.

Assuming you are using your nspire in "regular" mode:
dev //Nothing there tmp //Nothing there either phoenix //Language files + config + useless files like 2 .svg of the Nspire documents //Your documents ti84 //As described above, contains the emulator logs //Nothing there either widgets //widgets from the .tns files (nothing to do with lua). I never found anything there wlan temp_ccp // Nothing here images // Images in .tns files are stored there when the .tns is open
You can also get some other folders...

I know where to find AltGr on a "regular" keyboard (I thought it would maybe be mapped on some strange key on the nspire keyboard like pi or ...). Unfortunately, I don't have any USB keyboard with me.
