I can't do anything else than to look at this being astonished! I was always intrigued by FPS games on calculators (like Wolf3D and Gemini on the TI83's and84's ) Good luck on your further progress with this, it looks quite damn epic already!
I was intrigued by those games too, but they all crashed on my nspire's 84SE emulator.

Thx, good to know. I think the name "Random Discussion" is a bit misleading, though. Miscellaneous would be a better choice of name.

Welcome! That doom port looks awesome! I cant wait to see more screenies! How many FPS are you getting? The animated screenie looks choppy but it could just be the gif.

Hmm, just realized a problem: What if teachers start blocking TI-BANK and Omnimaga? (They're already blocked at my school, so I don't really care, but other schools...)
At my school, most forums, and all blogs are blocked. Te librarian says its because those are individuals posting the stuff so its hard to control the content, but then theres a whole bunch of other stuff made by individuals that goes right through the filter. Personally, I dont see the need for filtering anything but pr0n.

Dont you go backwards in ray tracing, so only the rays that hit the eye are shown?

I'm putting everythhing off for a bit just in case someone knows a way to uncorrupt an archive...
* fb39ca4 bangs head against the wall because another person neglected to make backups The only way I could think of is to use a nand programmer to get a dump of the archive, and save what you can. Hope you can pick stuff up later.

Thisll be sweet once its done. I got an old lego mindstorms kit from my uncle a few years back, but the IR transmitter for the computer is broken so I cant program it. I think it would be cool to make a robot that uses a calc as the processor somehow.

If this becomes widespread, the tests will probably require people to put electrical tape over the led, like what is currently being done with the IR ports.

How are we going to connect the calcs to the internet reasonably? Most people dont have a spare wifi adapter, female-a to male micro-b cable, and the seaparate power needed for the wifi?

Me, I'm good at math but I don't like it The technology sub forum is a good idea.

Sorry if this was already answered, but do we know the speed and type of processor that the Prizm has?
SuperH 3, running at 29 MHz (speed can be increased).
How much can it be increased? 29 MHz is SO SLOW!
The nspire has "spoiled" us. If it had never came out, we would be thinking of 29mhz as fast compared to the 84+.
