Maybe one's cheaper? size can also be a factor.
Edit: We don't have the TI-Robot, the TI-Keyboard, or the TI-73.
And accessories aren't sold in shops. (TI-Graph Link USB, TI-Nspire rechargeable battery, color slide case, color keyboard for the TI-84+SE...) We have to order them online from TI importation shops, and that's quite expensive.
I didn't see a single one of those available from stores in the US either, at least not where I live. They have 83+, 84+ and 84+SE, along with 89Ts. Not much else, unless you go online, and the stores do not have accessories.
What is a TI-Robot?

Wow, you know you're dealing with TI if a slide case is big news
No kidding.

It doesn't have to show the names of people, just a general percentage of people n years old who have entered their birthday in their profile.

Actually, I just realized it was four days. DJ, the link to TI-Bank goes to the thread on Cemetech. If the cx is released in france, how come there is no 3.0 os on the french website? What would people do if they deleted/corrupted their os by mistake?

Now, at least there'll be a viable market for third party slide cases - sorta like the skins for iphones/itouches,

Both versions have their strengths and weaknesses. Nspire basic is horrible for games due to the lack of getkey and drawing functions while 8x basic is not as strong (or fast) in complicated math functions. I would recommend looking at various programs for both platforms, seeing what kinds of stuff they can do, keeping in mind the kinds of programs you want to write. Also, if you choose to program in the 84 emulator, be sure to make frequent backups as the emulator will reset the ram every time the OS is reloaded, and it has a tendency to crash at inconvenient times as well

Happy birthday, Homer and Rcfreak0! @DJ: Is there statistics on the joining age? That would be interesting to see.

The graphics card arrived yesterday! I was surprised at how large it is. (The last graphics card I saw in person was a RIVA 128 ) I ordered the case today, and I'm ordering the rest later today or tomorrow.

One thing some people reported (including RUner) is that apparently the screen isn't too great. You have to face the DS even in 2D mode, otherwise the screen starts looking weird or something and if you often move while playing it can be annoying. I hope this isn't too much an issue for some games. Also in 3D mode you apparently have to be close to the screen, and some games run slower in that mode.
I am curious what games will come out, though, in the future. I wonder if there will be some RPGs or first person shooters? I know there's the Zelda OOT remake.
I'm not having any such issues with 2D mode. I do get some weird stuff if I have it on very low 3d settings, but not when the slider is set completely to 2D.
With the very low 3d, could the weirdness be because the images are so slightly offset that your eyes don't realize they are supposed to be from two different angles?

I'm kind of overwhelmed with information, so just making sure... This is an ndless program that launches a boot2. You still must have TI's os installed to run this. The boot2 is running on top of TI's os. There is currently no way to automatically launch your own boot2 / os when the calculator starts up.

One thing nice to see is the analog stick. It should make many games a lot easier.
If Nintendo had had me on their team, the first Nintendo DS would have had the analog stick
I would have given the original gameboy an analog stick
