Thanks Binder News, but the great thing about KOS is that you don't need to define a file format - you could transfer any file whatsoever to your calculator as if it were a flash drive.
Is that planned, or already finished? I need to work on that, since I can't work on TAO, atm. (Technically I am working on it, just not coding the massive amounts of USB fun stuff.)

Wikipedia actually has a reasonably complete description of the filesystem data structures. Is that sufficient?
Yes, but I never liked wikipedia for full information like that. Is there a utility that I can look at the structure of devices I already have? EDIT: I know about HxD, but something for mac/linux would be preferable.

00 09 is NOP. Replacing everything with NOP is easier than making the file smaller.
Oh, okay, that makes sense. I'm assuming it only takes one instruction cycle as well. ;-)

Okay. I've finally got a chance to install the toolchain on my laptop. The toolchain supports C and C++, so we can use the Windows version of Wabbit and port that to the iPhone since it is newer and well... Better.
And any ideas on how the rom thing will work? iFile would work, but not everyone wants to monkey with the filesystem.
The best thoughts I have there, are if you can use usb access. Just use USB to transfer ROM8X to their calc, find the OS version they're using online, and make a rom. (Note that I would think an app or something to do this would be awesome. But that is only if you can access the filesystem from USB.
