KnightOS / Re: TI-84+ Incompatability Problems« on: January 16, 2011, 05:00:34 pm »KOS will never have the certificate page swapped in, ever.sweet. I was thinking cryptography next. j/k Also, with wikiTI down, I can't test all this stuff, but I have a pretty good idea how USB works atm. 1143
Casio Calculators / Re: Casio Prizm documentation« on: January 16, 2011, 04:39:54 pm »Nice! Should make it easier for people to learn SH3 assemblyYeah, not at all. The simple instruction set usually makes it a little bit harder. Especially when people are used to pushing and popping stuff all over the place. Just my $.02 though. 1144
TI Z80 / Re: tilem4iphone« on: January 16, 2011, 04:07:49 pm »Is Cydia an alternative to the apple store? I'm not familiar with the whole ipod jailbreaking scene...Yeah, sorta. In linux, you can apt-get packages off of some server. Cydia is basically the same thing, but for the iphone/ipod. 1145
News / Re: OS 2.55MP released« on: January 16, 2011, 03:39:28 pm »Still no developer response. For the record, if you get some awesome developer response, I'm not gonna hand my thrown over. ;-) But seriously, I doubt we'll get a response at all. I really hope we do, though. Maybe send them a modified OS with all their bugs fixed. 1146
KnightOS / Re: TI-84+ Incompatability Problems« on: January 16, 2011, 03:36:41 pm »I double checked this. C is set on greater than or equal to for a CP instruction. And the model IDs are set at boot time, and are as follows:yeah, but how are you going to make it more secure? Maybe have a section that only KOS can edit. Speaking of which, will KOS mess with the certificate at all? I'm not doubting your coding skills, I'm just really afraid that my calculator would be bricked. 1147
TI Z80 / Re: tilem4iphone« on: January 16, 2011, 03:35:17 pm »Cydia works. I have an apple computer, but can't develop or join the ADC yet. Also, I doubt it would be accepted on the App Store, for the same reason there's no gaming console emulator there, because of copyrighted roms and things like that. 1148
KnightOS / Re: KnightOS« on: January 16, 2011, 03:34:25 pm »If there's a 8xk installer, I assume it will copy itself in the appropriate area of the Flash ROM then overwrite the entire OS before deleting itself, right? Does the VAT work the same way for flash apps? I wonder if that could be a problem? (the app being at a variable location)The app isn't variable at all. Let's see, the best way I can think to do it would be to call the app which is always located at 0x4000. Then, delete page 0, change execution so that it can run anywhere in memory, and then swap the other pages of the apps out so that they can overwrite stuff wherever they need to. Technically, he could make it where booting of KOS made the filesystem if it wasn't there before. 1149

YOu didn't mention at all about xlrd. Can you not do this without some excel database? (If memory serves, that is what xlrd does)

I'm still betting there is a flag somewhere to get rid of that loading bar. I would almost guarantee it, but can't make that call until I actually get a prizm.

The Axe Parser Project / Re: Invalid Error« on: January 15, 2011, 07:06:07 pm »8811? That high? Huh. I thought it was a bit lower then that...Well, I don't remember exactly. I think it's actually less, but 0xC000-0x9D95=8,811. I just realized I should have used BFFF, so 8,810. But the upper limit is probably lower than that. 1154
The Axe Parser Project / Re: Invalid Error« on: January 15, 2011, 06:55:13 pm »Yup. If the size of your program goes over about 8000 bytes, then you should really consider either optimizing or turning it into an app. There's an executable file limit on all assembly programs, although I can never remember the precise numbers.8,811 bytes, I think. 1155
KnightOS / Re: KnightOS« on: January 15, 2011, 05:27:51 pm »Oh, okay. Good luck then.Okay, so I'm sure that we can still work that out. Using the calc-calc cable, and an adapter, I bet I could write a program that would transfer stuff. Maybe, I can't be certain on that. But I bet it could at least transfer an OS. Do you have an arduino?I'm not sure how it would work...The installation time would be horrendous and it would take a lot of tricky coding.Full 8XU, we have the signing keys after all |
